Shew, yes, just did that mission in my second playthrough years later and made the mistake of trying to open the door. AGAIN. Damn them for putting a prompt there … they just knew people like myself would look through the window and see what’s happening, but STILL try to open the door because there is a prompt that allows you to try lol. It’s the “no doorknob unturned, no container unlooted” mindset in open world games. It’s one of those “fck around and find out” situations, because if you didn’t know… You can walk on by that door, look in, never attempt to open it … and they will never chase after you, making the return back from the tower much more of a breeze. It’s the details like that which make this game pretty damn great, because there are people that have played this game that didn’t know you could turn the knob and have them chase after you.

It left such a large impact, I can still so very clearly see and remember what happened. That and ... two of the things that happen at the end of the base game. Hate horror, but Dying Light is an exception, and well worth at least a try.

It's weird to me that they didn't introduce the Screamers sooner considering one of the first few sidequests in Old Town involves one and they're also just on the map there in certain locations before you face one in the main story for the first time - unlike the Bombers and other variants, which are nowhere to be found until you do the main quest where they show up.

Watching this after playing through Dying Light 2 a couple times makes me really sad at how much more scary the first game was. Don't get me wrong, I loved the second game. It's really fun and has awesome parkour and a cool world to explore. But its jut really not a very scary game. Night time is almost more appetizing in Dying Light 2 cause it's barely more dangerous but has TONS more loot up for grabs. It's really too bad they didn't keep the "feel" of the first game. The whole "Good Night and Good Luck" aspect of the series.

Because back in the days those developers knew what they doing with the game and didn't try to mix different genres and didn't have all this fancy kind shits like weapons flame swords plasma katanas flying brooms and hoverboards. It's so sad to behold what has happened to this franchise and how it went completely on the same route like ubisoft completely ruined Assassin's creed. Don't let all those shiny effects disctract you from the facts, how much this game has been degraded from it's original predecessor.
@gagetaylor192 Жыл бұрын
@@MatthewzonMatthewzon If Assassin's creed is the comparison here then you've got your logic all the way fucked up. Let's say DL1 is AC2. DL2 is like Brotherhood or Revelations. What exactly was gonna be scary about a game where you know pretty much everything to expect, and it's like 15-20 years after the events of the first game. Everybody has already seen shit. Game didn't have to be scary nor would it have ever been scary no matter what they did.

Both games have some really creepy and intense moments. From the storyline to the side missions and even stuff you find by just wandering around. I'd say the one that unsettled me the most in the first game, aside from the cannibal in Old Town, was the post office in The Following. As with most places, it looks pretty much abandoned. Until you got to find the Post Master's key. Of all the suicides by hanging that you find in this game, that one actually made me jump a little and just disturbed me.

He really made #6 sound alot tamer than it was. It's implied the guy still had a small sense of self as he is heard talking when you go down and investigate. As it turns out the volatiles put him in a spot where a ray of sunlight would shine down on him, basically torturing him for hours while the sun was out and in the right position, and he can be heard moaning in pain and saying "it hurts, please make it stop" or something to that effect.

It is easily in my top 3 games i have ever played, ok Horizon, Hollow Knight, GOT.....ok easily top 5 haha and i went on to totally adore Zombie games and movies. I cant wait to repay the makers of the game by buying their game full price this time around, although i am very worried that lots of OG devs of the first game no longer work at the company. They also have a history of abuse and to top it off got rid of the guy who made the original Dying Light soundtrack! That decision alone has the warning bells ringing in my ears.
