I'll spend the entire day at work thinking "Aw man, I can't wait to get home and gather some soldiers for Mother Base! Or complete a few goddamn side ops!" (PS guess what I'm stupid enough to try and play) just to get home, feed the pets, feed myself, etc etc.... and then when the day's chores are done... I'm just not in the mood for gaming. So I end up right here. On youtube. Just wasting away... *Sigh*

“When you're young you have time and energy but no money. When you get older you have money and energy but no time. And later when you finally have time and money, you no longer have energy.” -Annette Gulick According to this we just need to get old, then play games.
@sugarkitty20087 жыл бұрын
+dpskatoo75 Assuming you're under 35 (Just a guess for max age for this) by the time we're old, virtual reality should have been invented and at an affordable price. As long as you don't die before then that is. Won't need to move your body at all, so won't need the energy. Arthritis won't effect using a controller and that. The tech is already on it's way to it and with how fast tech had been advancing it's very likely we will see it happen before we die of old age. The thought of virtual reality where you are actually in the game happening at some point in my life is one of the things that keeps me going. Virtual reality can go far past games as well, it would be great for the old and disabled who can't get out and socialize or play sports etc... Just go for a walk in a virtual park and socialize, make friends, all without leaving your house.

The whole Time issue can be solved if we were allowed to work only 8 hours a day. Because nowaday, the job follows you home. It never really stop. Technologies were supposed to make your life easier, less stressful, not making yourself wanting to suicide. Not turning you into a new kind of slave.
@Gartneren12348 жыл бұрын
You should come to Norway. Because here our working days are shorter than eight hours. And there are strict regulations when it comes to working at home.

@Gartneren12348 жыл бұрын
Louis DellaLucca well it depends on which industry you are working within. The oil industry is pretty much screwed, whilst other industries are hiring. And the best part is you can actually refuse to communicate with your work after your working hours are finished for the day.

Mattias Johannessen Generally speaking, I work retail, but I can also do home repair stuff.
@Gartneren12348 жыл бұрын
Louis DellaLucca well if you work in retail there's some pretty good opportunities here if you can handle the pressure. Retailers are one of the few businesses that are booming, and oh dear god can we say booming. It's crazy. I had this one friend of mine who had a job in a retail store. He started out as an assistance, and by his second year he was the store manager. Retailers in my country does not work for very long unfortunately before moving on to different jobs, so they are constantly looking for workers. And their wages are not bad either. It's not like you earn yourself a fortune, but it's quite a decent one.

School is NOT the same, believe me. All you have to do is pay attention in class and actually get invested in what you want to learn. You won't have to spend so much time learning at home because you'll remember a lot of it from the classroom. Teachers will also be less harsh if you show interest. Homework isn't that bad. If you know what you're doing, it will end quicker than you think. Things do change in college but when you're in college you won't have time for games because you're probably spend more time drinking yourself into a comma. Or whoring around as it was in my case.

Yeah...yeah...yeah...Look I love my job, I really do, I have a bad ass job, and it does give me the $$$ for Saint Gabe to suck up during the Summer/winter sales...But being a gamer will always be my favored activity outside of womanly relationships, my job not only took me out of playing competitive but also ensures that very sadly I may never really get back to wear my team and I once stood, those glorious times were wonderful...and terribly short lived. Now my friends whom have cool jobs of their own, all we can seem to manage is a few hours every weekend or so where we reflect on the "good ole days" back in high school and make promises that maybe one day we'll all have the time to get to that magical status of Professional Gamer. I have a job so I'll put in my own input: 10) Easy, only buy games you're incredibly interested in. I've bought at least 10 games over the past year, many for my new Wii U. I still have time to play them AND do LPs, and I work RETAIL, the worst job for having a life outside of the job! 9) I still love multiplayer games, I just don't progress as fast as an unemployed person or school kid. 8) I can associate with that, but also that's what the Internet is for. Find a forum or group of people online passionate about your game and go at it. 7) Only scheduling I do is LP related. I game when I feel like it and have free time. This is hyperbole. 6) Only time I feel like I need to skip a cutscene cuz I saw it before. Either I played it before OR I died and the cutscene's just gotta play again. 5) Again, a non-factor. 4) That's not just a gamer issue. People spend all night drinking, and now they have the problem of not enough sleep AND they're hung over! Your example is nothing compared to that. 3) You're bad at doing anything tired, that's the whole reason why being tired is bad, and actually driving drunk is nowhere near as bad as driving while having to go #1. Mythbusters actually confirmed that. 2) I've finished every open-world game I started, I only stopped playing them because they got boring. This is just a re-hash of #10. 1) Casual games are more like work-break games because they're short and occupy your time you'd otherwise spend doing jack squat. That and they're portable. That's just extra gaming you can get in when you're not home but still want to game! I have employees at my wal-mart that spend their work breaks on a 3DS, I do too! Sounds more like a Top 10 for gamers with jobs that have no control of their life or themselves, really.
