As long as it's counted as external damage, if he does what he did for the TAS run, he should be fine. Pichu will damage itself naturally; as long as this isn't counted in a no-damage run, you're okay as long as you're good or have a TA on hand.

Don't know how no one picked up on the fact this is a hack. Watch the time race to the top after Samus, he uses up B multiple times without ever hitting the ground. And after the multi jab on Kirby he throws him into a bomb which also hits himself but did not show up as damage. I don't know how many other hacks he is using but this is not legit. Still impressive but not legit.
