Campaign-wise, Gears 2 and 3 are fighting for my favorite spot at the top. I just really liked Gears 2 a lot for still trying to maintain the horror vibes that first Gears of War had.

IMO Gears 2 was the better of the 2. Gears 3 had too many bad jokes and annoying dialogue. Gears 1&2 kept the dark creepy atmosphere and used humor when it was needed. 3’s writing just isn’t as good as Gears 1&2

Exactly Gears 2 kept the horror vides, Gears 3 was more colorful tropical ish, Gears 1&2 were more colder and darker! still I think Gears 1 protentional of horror was higher and they could explore it more!

@@makanansari144 but gears was never really DESIGNED to be horror...yeah it is a dark tone shooter and certainly has its moments but to most out there (stereotypically, i'm not saying this is my view) Gears has been seen as one of three things; a game that was made to rival Halo's success, a 3rd person shooter about many symbolic war tropes liek sacrifice, honor, putting friendship before duty etc... or thirdly...a game about overly buff men who fight boogeymen. you should listen to people who don't like GOW describe it sometimes...its quite amusing...they say it is about steroid ripped men who fight mole people...and i just reply "that's funny considering you jerk off to Spartans".

the beggining scene with prescott giving his speech and the army mobilising set this game up perfectly, not to mention the music. gears of war will always be my favourite video game franchise. its good to see that people are giving it a playthrough

@@GamerJoobChannel He lost his brother about a year before the locust war, Carlos died when he went head on for an AA tank during the battle for aspho fields. A machine gunner shot him and his guts spilled out. Marcus took an AA tank and went on a rampage across the battle ground, destroying the other AA tanks and taking out UIR choppers trying to gun down Doms commando squad. Bernie had to shoot him in the head to stop his suffering. Dom lost his brother a day after his 2nd child had been born.

Such a good game, from city, to the road to landown, the hollows, one of the riftworms, abandoned sketchy facility, to road to nexus, then to jacinto. Horde 2.0, 4 player campaign, retro lancer, depressed Dom which is heart breaking, a solid story DLC and many other things just made it so good. I also highly recommend the novels they offer so much in background information about the world and introduces a fantastic character that appears in 3

Don't rush into things take your time whether it's building or enemies; Ex: u missed the hammer of dawn pickup and u forgot about Brumaks weakness which is the guns don't aim their bodies 2. ALWAYS explore u missed ALOT of secrets and they r easy to find. In Gears 3 there will be more and r easy to spot so explore every nuke and cranny don't rush into the game, there r secrets even when u immediately start 3. Execute enemies cause in Gears 3 u get to execute enemies with every weapons u have
