As much as I liked Ragnarok, that game and the 2018 one just didn't quite feel the same without all the ruthless brutalities Kratos has pulled off in the past. Hence why my heart will always belong with the Greek games, and 3 is my #1 favorite in the series to this day.

I do have a bias towards the new games as, while I’ve played the original 3, that wasn’t until I played 2018 and Ragnarök, so I don’t have the nostalgia factor of the original 3. I loved the original 3 for the violence and epic-ness of it, but I felt like Kratos needed to adapt and change, and what they did with his story in the new games I like more than the young and vengeful Kratos. I like how he struggles with his rage because of Atreus, and in Ragnarök he has a great line where he says, “I do not fear our child, Faye. I fear for him.” I love that line so much. I don’t really believe the new games are overrated, but I do believe the original trilogy is underrated and overshadowed by the newer games. I just personally think that the story and character development is better in the new games. I love to see that older fans still love the originals though. More power to you! Hope you appreciate my thoughts!

The fact that Thor was holding back and wanting to see Kratos' true potential from his past made me like him as a character. I won't go over too much on other moments just incase there are viewers who haven't completed Ragnarok yet. You are correct with the whole 'new games overshadowing the original trilogy' statement, that was the term I was looking for, and it's another reason why I'm sticking with the classics for the rest of my life.

GOW2 is one of my favorite PS2 titles. GOW1 was goated, but there was something about the size, scale, and story of 2 that made me love it more. Plus that epic cliffhanger of an ending! I remember playing the PS3 collection of 1 and 2 and seeing the advertisement for 3 in the case, so after seeing that amazing ending, I was pumped for 3 to release! You know as epic as this was the Titans were kinda disappointing in their performance against Olympus. None of them were really able to put up much of a fight against any of the Gods. If anything the actual role they played was in distracting the Olympian Gods so they didn't just gang up on Kratos and Kratos could kill them one at a time. It makes sense in hindsight, they were losing the war in the first place and it wasn't like picking it up again was going to change anything, especially when the Olympians were now older and more experienced.
