They are trying to fuck us over, very true; they're offering shrinkflation, also true. But their architecture is fundamentally progressing faster and faster, they're just keeping the best for enterprise and very Premium customers. Intel's architecture had basically stopped progressing when AMD caught them. This means that if Intel gets too good, nvidia just needs to increase vram a bit.

@@KrikZ32 It likely won't happen, Intel got fucked in the cpu market because they were doing shitty work. Nvidia has been doing incredible work. Their progress with gpu tech is absolutely phenomenal. So long as Nvidia hasn't gotten high on the temporary AI boom and over hired I think they will do just fine even with more competition. The only thing that would possibly happen is they adjust their pricing. But even that is a stretch as they have a supply problem, not a pricing problem. And if you think Nvidia has been doing crappy work because they sold low end gpus as 60 - 70 and 80 tier cards as premium products then you're really missing the point here. I always enjoy these interviews/discussions with Tom Petersen. This is the sort of high tech stuff about video game rendering that I love to hear about, and Tom is good at explaining it.

I used to run an intel CPU and an AMD GPU. The tables might have completely turned soon!

Tom Petersen is such a cool guy, he's a huge keyboard nerd too lol. He was in an intel Discord group call and was showing off all his builds lmao.

I did not know that! Doesn't surprise me, though. (Fellow keyboard nerd)

Having worked with the guy, nothing gets between him and the excuse to talk to people about stuff he enjoys. I'm fairly certain Tom would bolt up out of his deathbed to talk about GPUs with people.

I love these interviews with Tom. At least half of what he is trying to explain goes straight over my head yet having said that, each time you do one of these videos, my understanding of how computer graphics are drawn increases a tiny bit. I just think it's sooo cool that an engineer is prepared to spend time explaining how the new products work. Tom has a great presentation style being neither too technical nor condescending and is clearly very passionate about what he does. I really hope the Battlemage cards are a big success for Intel, and for us!

Intel has done in a short time what AMD couldn't do in the GPU sector for years Congratulations
@israellewis54846 күн бұрын
@@GreyDeathVaccineprecisely. Read the white paper. AMD really hasn't dedicated GPU space to the RTU. They are doing a hybrid build since RDNA2 but imo RDNA3 didn't scale as well for a lot of reasons. I think AMD is being forced to do RT when it doesn't directly benefit them.

This is amazing and I could easily listen to you guys break it down all day how a GPU works and the uplifts from previous hardware. Can't wait to see a hardware review by GN!!
