@Anthony Slaga You don't need the actor colony for theaters. I'm wondering if it is more efficient to use a system of actor colonies and destination walkers, though. That might save some theater space in which you can squeeze in more tents. In principle, you could also destroy the forums before you end to get a final boost. As the whole system is limited by farms, it would not much a big diffrence, however.

I don't have a job and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't buy pottery or furniture, but I occasionally drink from the local water fountains. After having a loaf of bread and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Ok, I got 147k with a different block design including a lot of large tents in the free space between farms. I even had a full line of two water tiles. This build is still not completely optimized for sure, more than 150k should be easily doable in my opinion if you find the optimal design to fill out the map completely with a minimum of service buildings and every farm feeding close to 360 people.

I recall the original game map editor had an option to toggle 'Food provided by rome' which automatically gave all your houses access to 1 basic food type. It was only ever used in the first campaign mission I think. Something like that here would allow you to pack additional people into the map - if that was your ultimate goal.

You might be able to fit an additional farm in each block between the 2 reservoirs where the eng post and prefecture currently are. Not sure if it would be stable but spacewise it would work and support those additional houses in each of the blocks.

Hi Zakh! With existing layout you have you can even put doctor, fountain, engineer and prefect beside aquaduct, between reservoirs so feeder house can be 2x2.

You know, it would be awesome if the map editor let people place their cities anywhere they wanted to and name them accordingly. For example Rome and Constantinople. Also making our own trade routes and goods. Don't know if it's possible but just putting it out there.

Hi. You say you can do this in vanilla. You would reach the max amount of buildings after about the 2nd full row. For a map to support this many items you have to have the mods enabled to do this. But enjoy watching someone attempting this.

Glad you're enjoying it! And yeah I meant vanilla rules, so no roadblocks or special orders and things like that. There was a sprite limit patch before this where it just increased the limit, so you could do this basically with just that.

Your city starts to look great once your housings evolve into the red roofed casa. I could go as far as the medium villa. But beyond that your housing needs more space and you have to regretfully clear the other houses nearby.

I'd say the best ones are either Emperor or Pharaoh. If you've played Caesar 3 before, Pharaoh is more like that. Emperor uses a slightly different housing system. In either Pharaoh or Emperor, I'd also recommend playing on Hard difficulty max. Very Hard has a lot of balance issues and unfairness.

In Zeus Matser of Olympus your game starts to destabilize at around 16k population because weird things happen. This game just like that allows 140k pop. Oh well at the same time it is not as complex as this one. But still: High respect, I always get a nerdgasm when I see something like this. Be it Caesar, Zeus, Factorio or other optimization games like the Anno Series.

Hi there, I just wanna make a brief comment. I noticed you're not familiar with the latin names, such as "casa". It's the same when I play most games and then go look for things online, which are mostly in english and don't match the names I'm used to (like names of animals in RDR2. What's a buck? What is a pronghorn?). So, casa means house. Interesting vid. BTW: your city looks like a soviet city full of khrushchyovka mikrorayon (mini-districts)

What PC gaming computer would you recommend ? After years of purchasing consoles, I would like to go back to PC but have no clue. Laptops or this tower gaming PC?

The options now are pretty much whatever you like. There's no one go-to that's considered the 'best' anymore. For a long while, laptops were considered not worth it, but with thunderbolt on the rise, getting a powerful laptop and a thunderbolt hub for an instant desktop conversion is the new trend things are going in, so you get flexibility but also power. That needs budget though. You'll want at least equivalent to an i5, 16GB RAM, and RTX 2070 if that's within your budget. Those or whatever benchmarks around those. If you got more money, going up to an i7, 32GB RAM, and RTX 3070 is great. Generally, if you do get a laptop, make sure it has a thunderbolt port on it and look into thunderbolt hubs. The only brand I'd avoid is Alienware (and by extension Dell). I personally had a bad experience with that. I just prefer custom builds nowadays, even with my current laptop it's a custom one.

For budget, I don't really have a limit (thankfully) and what I would like to have is something that doesn't become obsolete in the next 3 years (which might be impossible nowadays, idk). I have tried to research online but could not manage to at least narrow down to some more precise choices. I really appreciate your help! What desktop would you suggest? And if you had to choose one model of gaming laptop to run very recent games flawlessly (and run as well oldies but goldies like Pharaoh :) what would you recommend ?

@@86Sandrone You can get PC build shops to custom build for you. You could save money doing it yourself if you know how to but if budget isn't a problem just get them to do it. In terms of brands I don't like recommending anything specific. They keep changing, there's always software bundled up with anything branded, and their support/warranties are all different. Graphics cards can be hard to get nowadays because there is a shortage, so they're either that or very expensive. But yeah, if you want something that'll last more than 3 years and still be considered good, try get an i7, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 3070. The 40XX series will be releasing sometime this year, so if you're not rushing you can keep an eye out on news of that. Even a single generation can have massive power increases and new generations are at earliest every 2 years. Being 1 generation behind the latest is still considered very good, so if you get a 3070 that'll be considered very good for at least 2-3 years from now and still pretty decent up until 4-5 years. One thing to check when picking a graphics card is the VRAM. Some cards have different versions, so for example the RTX 3070 has an 8GB VRAM version and a 16GB VRAM version. If you're getting a laptop, sometimes they put the half power one in there for space reasons. Always remember, check specs first, brand second.

Noob question here: how is the single market at 11:17 servicing the entire bloc able to do the job, in my early mission, I have a market with enough food servicing a 9x9 bloc and some shackles say they don't have access to food.....

The key here is two things: 1. The granary couldn't be closer 2. There is only one resource being distributed. If that market also had to get pottery or something then it wouldn't be able to handle it.

You need four squares when constructing houses, so they can evolve and accommodate more people in a house and use less land for housing; otherwise houses will be stuck in small single square houses only and you need lots of land for tiny houses.

A cool concept for a city-builder imo would be to decrease unemployment by adjusting working hours for those able to work. This would increase happiness by a fair margin. Now, from a theoretical standpoint the wages shouldn't drop and people should get bigger bucks per hour. Since you now no longer have to support those that can't work because of job unavailability, that money can be dropped into wages.

Sometimes building spawns can be at corners, so roadblocks block walkers from spawning on those tiles.
