I don't think people give Fnaf enough credit for what it did Like it or not, it was a breath of fresh air after the horror genre was filled with Slenderman clones and RE6.. Sure, it had jumpscares, but it used them well: unlike most previous horror games, the jumpscares weren't scripted events, they were something you could actually avoid, basically giving you a way to react but leave you helpless at the same time. Not to talk about the sound-design, something that game really managed to do well, with the lore behind it I'm glad to see this game series going strong to this day, ironic of how this was Scott Cawthon's last attempt at game development

@Noperare Жыл бұрын
I wish more games would have melee enemies surrender if you point a gun at them, but they will charge if you try to load the gun. It always felt very "gamey" when a game has normal human enemies with 0 sense of self-preservation, like they don't understand the concept of gun/ranged weapon.

7 Days to Die is a great survival horror game first released in early access in 2013, during the supposed "dead" years. And it's been getting updates ever since. It would be awesome if they integrated more b-movie plot stuff to the background of gameplay. When thorHH was mentioning how he wanted more looting/scavenging in I Am Alive, I immediately thought of 7DtD. Like with most of the games thor highlights, 7DtD just needs that polish and tweeking to become truly great. Though the new update made things harder and therefore freakier.

The Missing. It's a cinematic platformer directed by Swery, it's got a cool twist on the gameplay of similar games, where you'll need to hurt yourself to progress. It's not exactly gory but it can be hard to play through listening to screams of pain frequently. If you're not good with that but it's absolutely worth playing through as the mechanics are well integrated with the storytelling. It's a surprisingly touching game especially if you know about Swery's other games, you might not expect him to be able to write such an emotional game, with LGBT characters too. It is a little expensive for the playtime you get though (5-6 hours) so it may be worth waiting for a sale, unless you want to support Swery.

I Am Alive was one of my favourite games on 360. I played it when I was around maybe 12 so the rape thing kind of went over my head, but I still always think about this game. I loved the tone, atmosphere, the set pieces and how the limited lives really made the tension for some section feel that much more intense compared to most games nowdays where you can just willingly die to restart with more health or something. I do wish that it had a bit more open areas but still be linear because I like that the game is constantly taking you to new places and I particularly remember liking the look of the mall and the various broken buildings and bridges you have to climb across but there were also sections where there was heavy fog and you had to navigate around the streets sort of blindly and I would have likes more of that and maybe a tweak to the enemy encounters which I really enjoyed for the first few times and even towards the end I liked but they were kind of tedious but very tense.

Wanted to play I Am Alive, but never got around to it. If it's on pc, I hope it doesn't have screen tearing.

And now...not anymore because of the rape stuff. The news makes it bad enough, don't need a game to remind me of it.

I actually wasn't playing a whole lot of games at the time, because I had just gotten into making music and stuff for youtube (not this channel). I wouldn't get back into games properly around 2011, when indies started really gaining steam.
