Ooooo! If you want something more modern go for Final Fantasy X, but if you want old school, go for Final Fantasy IV or VI. The Pixel Remasters are fantastic!

I have almost 100h in Forspoken, gameplay is great, the lore is SO cool and there is so much potential for a sequel, especially after finishing the DLC... it does not deserve the hate it gets

Forspoken was a great game. You could enjoy beating it in 10 hours or spend 40+ hours doing everything. There are some good lore bits hidden in that world and that extra stuff lets you really play with the combat which is the best part of the game. The "In Tanta We Trust" DLC also enhances the story. It made me wish we were getting a sequel.

Thanks for your video. Kaze is such a nice game. I recommend also 'Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams' on PS4, if you haven't played it yet. Very similar to Kaze in most aspects. Also, I agree with you about Forspoken, reviews foment a lot of unnecessary hate so I would recommend everyone to be weary of reviews nowadays. Similar to Forspoken, there are three games that released this year: Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Age Veilguard and Outcast New Beginning, which were destroyed by reviews BUT they were awesome for me.

Praise to the Forspoken champion! Like I said to you elsewhere, I had it in my backlog and picked it up after seeing your thoughts. The game is great - Frey's dialogue is obnoxious, but that doesn't mean the story is bad - it's actually pretty good! The part that nobody says enough is that this game is just inFAMOUS and anyone itching for more of that game will probably like this - Heck, Second Son was dragged for it's own cringey main character.

I remember one night when I was quite intoxicated but feeling great, I was talking to the main dev of that game, about how I basically had an incredibly similar idea to Kaze and its concept and things when I was young, I drew a series that looked similar. They were so, so awesome and nice and genuine! Kaze and the Wild Masks really is an underrated gem for sure, I loved my time with it, might have to go back to it soon enough, thank you for the reminder! Too many games, tooo many games!

For the little time that I have had lately, I've been slowly working on Baldur's Gate 3. That game kicks my butt quite often, so I don't know if I will see it through.

The problem with Emio is that its marketed as a horror/scary story when the reality is it takes complete beats from slow burning detective novels (which is funnily enough in the name). Its still a great story with a compelling mystery that unravels with each passing chapter but the expectations of "When am I going to be scared???" all game might hinder ones expectations. Still a brilliant story with charming characters and solid music and the conclusion is WELL worth the time put in imo. PS- Your hair is awesome in this video

I pre-ordered Forspoken, so paid full price for it and I have no regrets. Like you said, it's not anywhere close to Game of the Year material, but I had a lot of fun. The combat had me addicted and for a while I sought out every blip on the map just so I could have more combat. It has some pacing issues where you're stuck with a few abilities for quite long, and then the last sets of abilities are just dumped on you very quickly. The exploration rewards can be lackluster too, when you just get a few crafting materials for exterminating a whole town of monsters or something. But for me, combat and traversal were enough to have fun with the game. Would buy Forspoken 2 for sure. Though we'll probably never see more of this IP unfortunately.

You definitely sold me on kaze. And its 3 bucks right now on steam so why the hell not! Recently i just finished the first half life for the first time. Its pretty easy to see why it got its reputation. it does feel old, but the environmental storytelling is still top tier. I played through Slay the Princess, which was amazing. A groundhog day style choose your own adventure visual novel that had me hooked! I can usually only play visual novels for like 20 minutes at a time, but i sat with this for like 3 hours on my first day. I also like short games, and i've been spamming Wanted:Dead, which is waaaay better than the reviews say if you enjoy action games from the ps2 era. Hard as nails, but so satisfying when the combat clicks, and has that twin peaks/swery style of awkward humor and intentional badness that people either love or hate.

If you like a murder mystery game with great storytelling and beautiful graphics and soundtrack, Broken Sword: Shadow of the templars, had a wonderful remaster released this year. But rather than remaster it's called reforged. I mentioned it before but it's like my favourite game so I like to recommend it.

I really think Forspoken is going to be looked at in 4-6 years time as a real gem on the PS5. There's been such a tendency in recent years to throw so much negativity to games that are probably in the 6.5-7.5/10 range, and I just wish folks actually gave these games a chance. Forspoken isn't perfect, it has its flaws, but it's still a pretty dang fun game! These kinds of game experiences were beloved during the PS3/360 generation. I'm glad you played it and enjoyed it, Paige! Definitely a game I see more people coming around to enjoying after the inital criticism it received at launch, which is nice to see :)

Right now me and the wife are playing Disco Elysium, which I think you'd love. I'm also playing Xenoblade 2 which I'm really enjoying- I know your not that into it. And I'm trying Dark Souls again. I never get far enough into it to connect with it. Can't wait to try Emio. Forspoken may be your cup of tea, but I just couldn't endure that dialouge. Glad your having fun with it.

Xenoblade 2 is good game. Very good one. The only issue with it is depended on the person if they might not like ecchi harem stuff. That's the only issue I have with it. The characters that I dislike are around that theme (Rex, Mythra, Tora, etc). Other than that the gamr is excellent, and even the harem stuff is down perference.

@@DaakkuuYRS I'm a dyed in the wool anime fan so that's less of a problem for me (I started the series because I thought "the picture" meme was hillarious, still do). What does bother me is certain little UI and design problems. Stuff like: You have to watch online videos to really understand how the game works, Managing blade affinity charts can be annoying and makes me go to the internet for a guide, Quests are difficult to manage and the markers can be confusing, Switching blades to do field actions, Map layout is easy to get lost in, etc. But honestly, even with all those flaws I still LOVE Xenoblade 2, I really liked 1 but I LOVE 2 so far. Level 52 at current. Probably will end up being one of my favorite games ever by the time I'm done with it.

Games i completed recently: Star Ocean 2nd story R: i think the characters are weak, and voice acting was below average. 6/10. Decent combat FF7 Crisis Core: I think this game being on the shorter end actually saved it. Characters are great, combat can get repetitive. 7/10 Persona 3 Reload: Im a huge P5 and P5R fan, platinumed both etc. Loved P4G on Vita. But this game just never captured me. Tartarus is such a drag, and honestly I hardly liked the characters. Combat is fun as usual but thats thr extent of what I enjoyed here. 6.5/10 Yakuza:Like a Dragon(original): this one i fell in love with right away. Ichiban and the whole cast are sooooo likeable. And the combat is hilarious and fun. The story is great but I think it overstays its welcome and drags just a little. 8/10, looking forward to popping in Infinite wealth soon - love your content 😊

I've been playing Tomb raider Legend. I did get a Nintendo Wii and I got some games for it. It's the first version of the Nintendo Wii so I can play GameCube games on it. Absolutely not the worst game, the thing is, folk just wanted to hate Forspoken. It was cool to hate on it and jump on that bandwagon. The game is good, its a new IP, it takes risks, plays on the Alice In Wonderland formula. Like you said, not great but not worth the hate, not at all. Kaze is excellent, platforming perfection 👌

A lot of the hate for Forspoken was racist and misogynist. "Woke garbage." I enjoyed the game at launch, and it's gotten tons of patches since then. When you start really unlocking your magic spells and start comboing and swinging all over the place it's amazing.

I am glad to hear that. I have wanted to get it but didn't because the reviews were do mixed. However, the game play and combat system look to be very similar to Hogwarts Legacy and that was so fun. I am definitely getting Forsaken now. Thank u!

I've been playing Metaphor RE Fantazio and Epic Mickey Rebrushed. Atlus RPGs are very hit or miss for me because of how they tend to handle certain social issues and mental health stuff and they're sometimes very fan service-y. Fan service isn't really a problem to me, but I think there's a time and place for it. And most of the time it just takes me out of the experience. But so far Metaphor hasn't had those problems and I like the sort of high fantasy setting and there's not a single character I've met in the party who I found unlikable. Though there's still time for me to be disappointed as I haven't finished the game yet. With Epic Mickey, I don't really have much to say because I played it on the Wii back in the day. But the remastered graphics look beautiful and it honestly brings a lot of life that was missing from the original. If that makes sense. But other than that, it's the same game it was back in 2010.

Kaze & the Wild Masks is an awesome game. I beat it normal & 100%ed. This game was trying to copy Donkey Country 2 except you only go with 1 character here instead of 2.

I think that a lot of the hate or bad reviews are based on the cost on release and the amount spent on it (and probably hype). In that regard I can perfectly understand why games like Forspoken get vilified. I would hate to be someone who buys a game like that on day of release for full price. But I don't buy games on release anyway, so I tend to view things based on what they offer for the price I can get them. I picked up No Man's Sky for £5 on the PS4 a couple of weeks after release, thinking that I should find £5 worth of fun in it and I did. I also hoped that they might fix it, so I lucked out on that one! In this day and age with triple A failing badly, I can understand the annoyance, but I feel more people should view reviews based on what THEY want out of it. If you're like me and buy games cheaply, you should ALWAYS adjust things based on that.

Dragon Age Veilguard I also feel is getting undeserved hate as well..That game is a perfectly well done action rpg..I understand people disagreeing with the direction, but some of the hate is for other reasons than that..

You're right about the main character's attitude and dialogue being the thing that turned people off of Forspoken, but I also think there was a lot of the "anti-woke" hatred going around that doomed the game. The fact that the game stars a Black woman was off-putting to lots of people, which I don't understand. I could be wrong about that, but I don't think so. I don't have a PS5 yet, but I've been trying to build up a collection before I get one, so I picked up Forspoken because it was cheap ($10, brand new!). I look forward to playing it.
