I am still impressed that Half-Life 2 was as influential as it was, despite not being a masterpiece gameplaywise. Though Half-Life 2 having the gameplay be the weakest, while being a solid 8/10, just speaks volumes of how good everything else in the game is.

It is tho. I managed to play some temporarily free half life 1 and almost completed HL2. Still think it's a great game despite being made in the 90s.
