This guy is just trying to hack the algorithm. These kinds of titles and runtime are ones being preferred by KZbin to put in their recommendations for some reason.

It’s considered peak because Valve was the first studio to think of creating such scenes as early as when they developed Half-Life 1 in 1996. Instead of showing you unnecessary cutscenes, you experience the events directly through your perspective in real-time. These tricks influenced all types of games later on, whether they were story driven or open world games. This became standard in the industry, utilizing trigger systems placed in deliberate areas to showcase scenes seamlessly. In real life, you also witness events that you cannot interact with but simply let them happen.

Btw, all singleplayer games are scripted, even open world games like GTA. Essentially, you still have to follow the developers’ scripted intent to reach to the final.

Half life 1 was peak for this type of thing: telling a story by experiencing it and small details in the background (like G-man) or titles of the chapters.
