In this episode I buy and paint some classic Warhammer Hills from Games Workshop to add the terrain collection. And, Legolas joins the expanding Mirkwood Elf army.

@LEGIOXIII13 I couldn't. You might be able to, though. I haven't seen many DIY hills that look as good, or as natural, as the GW ones do IMO.

I remember someone at my local store getting that tin of quick shade when it first came out like 15 years ago. His army expanded over night now that all he had to do was base coat and dip. Not sure if he did it or just talked about rigging models to a drill so he could spin off the excess in the pot. That stuff is absolute magic for the right person and task. I might have to get some and use for terrain now especially with some of the simpler older kits.

@graefx I have a 2nd Ed Space Hulk set with where I did all the Genestealers with that tin of quickshade. It's great for things like that. Maybe I should consider using it again in future.

I can definitely recommend pitting entire armies against each other. They also work pretty well against the Warmaster lists - a little limited in range but otherwise great. I have six BotFA sets (modular hills coming out of my ears) and a bunch of extra minis to give me decent human, elf and dwarf forces. Too many goblins though. Also running the Heroes and Halflings. Great little minis.

@@nagashthegod Six?! That's amazing. Did you get around to painting them all? Either way, that's very impressive. It's so funny that the two responses I seem to get are either from people who have never heard of BoFA or people who own multiple copies.

Still painting the humans - adding them to my Empire forces as alternatives to halberds and crossbows. Need to strip and repaint the elves really. It was a great game, but didn't get advertised well, so I'm not surprised by the all or nothing knowledge. It basically went straight into Fanatic mag, had a couple of articles and gone. Lack of follow up releases beyond the excellent metals (love the elf cavalry and dwarf archers) didn't help. Glad some friends and I took the chance at the time, and kept picking up copies ever since.

Yeah man going to warhammer shops these days is so hollow. Dude! These hills are great for 10mm, the price is definitely right! Will defo be getting some of these. Legolas looks great! The armies are looking epic!

@TheWizardsBrush The mad thing is, I think they were £15 for one when they were released so they've actually gone down in price. I don't think that's ever happened in the history of Games Workshop before.

Awsome video man. Im always a bit sad going into my GW these days, used to be a comunity hub and now its just dead :( Pendrakken have elf mages but might be a bit high elfy

@JMACCSArmiesOfMiddleEarth Thanks man! Very glad to have this video done as I can finally concentrate on the colab project. I'm a bit hesitant to buy more Pendraken due to the size of them. Mind you, for characters it'll be less noticeable. Eureka have a miniature I quite like but it comes with a load of stuff I have no use for. I might send them a message and see if they can sort something.

To buy these and other things from the games workshop requires a remortgage. Way too expensive for some unpainted molded plastic.
