Games Workshop Warhammer 40k 3rd edition battle report. Eldar vs Space Wolves

I bought every 3rd ed codex and rule book, cause that is what I want to play. Tired of gw new rules that are either not fun or unbalanced, then having to buy another 10 books. I would also like to see more 3rd ed, but anything you guys do is fun to watch, and brings back good memories of simpler times.

3rd - 4th - 5th was an absolute ERA of 40k. The best editions in my opinion. I miss being able to customize my Guard regiments and creating special characters and wargear. So much was taken out of the hobby compared to these days.

Very true. Being fearless as a nid player was a nightmare in 5th and being able to move and still rapid fire was a killer for my Eldar in 4th.

Excellent game down to the wire. The thunderhammer hit to the warlock in round 5 was an instant kill, due to the hammer being over double the warlocks toughness. Having played Rogue Trader through 5th, 3rd is my favorite edition.

Thank you. After lasts night 2nd ed battle with all its random stuff, 3rd does reward you for tactics and is not bloated like the later editions.

Definitely right what you say about eldar lacking an 'autark' character... even the avatar isn't all that (especially compared to 2nd ed.) and at 80pts it seems they knew it

I honestly couldn’t see myself running my ghost warriors without Iyanna. Her 12” bubble of ignoring wraithsight is very nice and the armor of vaul is delightfully silly!

She’s next to eldrad in the main codex. Her spear is special as it has an increased range (18” over 12”) she lets wraiths ignore wraithsight within 12” and her armor is an invul that is a leadership check. If you hit her, she takes a leadership test. If she passes, nothing happens. With ld9 it’s hard for her to fail.

I think Richard has to be the only person I've seen playing who rolls as badly as I do. It pleases me to witness the suffering coming from someone else. That scream of pain expressed at that double 1 during the earlier combat was definitely heart felt.

Your wolf lord is the same model I used. It was a great model pose for the claws. Eldar having that many wraith guard at 2nd or 3rd ed wasn't feasible. 2nd and 3rd eds were my favourite

Absolutely loved this, I am only going to play 3rd ed or OPR:GD for my 40k collection, see how quick those turns went. 10th ed just fails…keep the probabilities the same but have everyone roll literally 5 times as many dice (including re rolls and FNP rolls) means it takes forever and is so confusing. Have to spoil the party a little bit, the mark of the wulfen is one per army.

3rd changed everything and when it 1st came out I was one of those guys that thought it dumbed down the game. Playing again after yrs it is a really good system

@@bringbattlewargaming8720 my mate did a ranger force with 3 wraith Lord's converted to a kneeling pose. An almost unbeatable force. Much harder to get line of sight on a WL when it's half it's intended hight

@@HappyNoob17YT in this edition they give you an extra attack. Power weapons make you AP2 Powerfists AP2 X2 STR
