I know this isn’t strictly one character but I love how Sonic and Knuckles’ designs contrast each other perfectly. Every rival for Sonic is designed to mirror Sonic in some way but I feel Knuckles does it the best. Him being red contrasting with Sonic’s blue, his strong body contrasting Sonic’s more rounded body, the moon crescent in his chest contrasting with Sonic’s “sun patch”. Really portrays how there’s supposed to be rivals. And of course happy birthday to our favorite grandpa 😊

I know Sonic characters obviously have colors not attributed to the real versions of those animals, but it still feels weird that Bark is a yellow polar bear. Amy and Rouge deserve to be side by side on the peak scale because every other female Sonic character exists on the scale between Rouge and Amy. Either they lean towards Rouge's sexy alluring attitude or Amy's cute girlypop vibe, and Amy and Rouge both lead those two design ethe expertly. You look at those characters and you know exactly what you're getting. And for reference, now that I think about it, I even think Blaze is the exact middle between those two. So there you go, for all you contrarians who need to find the middle of the scale, it's Blaze. Edit: Also I'm only just thinking about this now, if Omochao didn't have a mouth his design would improve exponentially. It's that little smile that makes him look psycho, if he just had eyes and a blank robot expression I think he'd be more charming.

I frist learned of Big The Cat from Sonic X. So the first time I saw him was in the frist episode where he only showed up for a few seconds and didn't talk. Based on those few seconds I had thought that he was a cool stoic type and I was eager to see him show up again. When he did show up again was near the beginning of season two.
