THE PERFECT CHAOS SLANDER IS CRAZY. Yes, it loses some points because Sonic didn't go super and that's what made the original fight so cool but the COOLEST thing about the Generations version is that it's shown that Sonic doesn't need to go super to defeat Perfect Chaos anymore and Sonic got stronger since their original encounter.

Ngl I feel the 3Ds version of generations chose better wisps for its colors representation level I feel burst and laser work better for speed and for the high and low route levels of platforming don’t get me wrong spikes is cool but I find myself getting stuck to walls and sticking on every surface but the one I want to get too and also it’s just a spin dash but pink so I felt it would have been more fun to use burst or drill for classic sonic and laser or frenzy for modern

A favorite of mine has to be City Escape Act 2. I think it goes without saying how fun that stage is. It really takes the original and makes it way more fun imo, the boost really makes that level more enjoyable for me. Act 1 isn’t that bad either, I love how classic Sonic gets a little skateboard to match Modern. Other than that I think Modern Chemical Plant would have to be one of my favs, it was so surreal seeing Chemical Plant in 3D in the way they did it. I can’t wait to play it all on my switch this month, you already know that’s gonna be peak

I definitely think Modern Sky Sanctuary deserves an S in a heartbeat, but it isn't quite as depressing as some other videos of recent that say it's the second WORST, which IMO is just plain injustice. One of the game's absolute masterpieces in my eyes.

Perfect Chaos' fight in this game is WAY better than the fight in SA1. The fact Sonic can take on Perfect Chaos without the Chaos Emeralds really shows how much stronger he has gotten. The fight is also more layered and involved, and so much more fun. S Rank stage, 10/10 boss fight.

My one gripe with Silver is that, on the final hit if you have 0 boost left, you have to very awkwardly and slowly build up speed to be able to reach him, but if you jump you lose all your momentum and have to build it all back. While you're doing this Silver is throwing everything at you, including attacks that require you to jump. For this alone I consider him worse than Shadow. Good list overall. I'd probably rank Crisis City lower in general as I don't really find it all that fun, but overall good list. Oh and btw, Rooftop Run was called "Orange Roofs" because that's the japanese title of Rooftop Run, both in Gens and Unleashed!

If I could tell Sonic Team what I **Personally** want in their level design going forward it’d be “make it as open as Seaside Hill Modern”, like change the themes and such of course but keep in mind that sort of openness and exploration of that specific level. Because MANNNNN I absolutely LOVE that stage.

I loved the layout of the Egg Dragoon's arena in Generations, especially since you can see the Earth's mantle in some parts of it which- alongside the skydiving section- is a nice callback to the original fight in Unleashed, but the battle lost some of the sauce it had compared to the original, including the music. While it's cool how the Dragoon borrows the whole design philosophy of the daytime boss fights in Gens, I think all of the stakes and tension during the fight in Unleashed alongside the Werehog- a nerfed Sonic- beating the tar out of what's essentially the finalized version of this mech from the start of the game, made the fight far more memorable. I'm sure some Adventure fans felt the same way about how Perfect Chaos was handled but hey... at least Open Your Heart got a cool remix instead of getting neutered like vs. Egg Dragoon did 😂 Yeah you can argue "Sonic got stronger" for both of these fights (which I agree with) but idk man. I think it would've been a lot cooler if the arena fell apart or became more hazardous as a way of "modernizing" the original fight. Maybe even having Sonic run down the wall of the gorge while Eggman falls as final phase of the fight (similar to Terminal Velocity and the Nega-Wisp Armor from Colors)

For me I'm torn between Planet Wisp, Rooftop Run and Seaside Hill (all act 2s) as my favourite level. You've already glazed the other 2 here so imma defend my goat. Imma be real, the 2D section is my favourite part. The amount of skips and shortcuts you can pull of is incredible. Especially when you can use the rocket Wisp right. It's just so much fun to master the level imo. But if you're not a big fan of 2D, I can understand.

If anything is changed in Sonic Gens for SxSG, I really hope that they change the Time Eater boss fight. That fight was SO bad in the OG game, Time Eater cannot hurt Super Sonic, and all of its attacks are so damn slow. Literally just make Time Eater deal damage and make its attacks faster, that would be a lot better. Anything would be better than what the OG fight was

I got personal beef with Crisis City Act 2 bro. They took out the skateboarding, rail grinding courses, and whirlwind platforming, and replaced it with spamming the stomp in boring 2D sections. Legit all the sauce from the OG Crisis City went into the classic act. The only saucy thing in the modern level is when you do the mach speed section backwards. Besides that, its basically just the billionth Gens city level, but now its on fire lol

I must be one of the only people that doesn't like City Escape act 2. like sure the opening set piece is done really well, but its like we just gloss over how about half of the level is a generic 2D segment and the chase set piece is flashier but less engaging version of the original. its also one of the shortest levels in the game. i certainly can't say it was nailed or even comes close to the original in quality. I'd also rank Chemical plant act 1 lower. its not a bad level. but it just doesn't do anything of note or new. Green hill act 1 and Sky Sanctuary act 1 both are either playing with new gimmicks or taking advantage of the 3D space. Id say chemical plant act 1 is one of the weaker act 1s in the game because of this. nearly all of the other act 1s are able to play with unique gimmicks, set pieces, or 3D space while still providing more engaging platforming.
