I am 41 years old, and I remember playing SF2 when it came out in my Super Nintendo. Funny thing is, even though I haven't played the game in 25 years, I still remember all the special moves from all characters. I can still do Hadouken, both fast and slow, uppercut, Alex Full, Turbo, etc.

the naming of the characters is different in the rest of the world, they go by the other names because street fighter in general is bigger in japan. balrog = mike bison/boxer. mbison = vega/dictator. vega = balrog/claw. they switched the boxers name because they didnt want to run into copyright issues with mike tyson.

I think It's the original board modified. At one point you can see it says "capcom phoenix edition". The original boards had piracy protection that would delete vital code when a battery was detected. This was hacked out.

HDRemix is simplified and strangely rebalanced. Ryu has a fake fb so jumping fireballs is turned into more guessing. It's just a less mature version of ST. None of the serious players ever wanted the game dumbed down so, players play the serious version, which is the original. Sirlin made the mistake of thinking he knew better than all of the other ST players and ignored them to make his own version and the community laughed at it. He "finally" balanced Akuma and yet, still needed to be banned on that game(total fail). lol

Because the SF2 bosses names expect for Sagat? were famously change around because the heavyweight Boxer looked like and was named similar to Mike Tyson! with M.Bison in Japan. To avoid a lawsuit in case a certain famous boxer sued them, Capcom changed the 3 bosses names around from; 'Vega' to M.Bison (Dictator), M.Bison to Balrog (Boxer), and the Spanish bullfighter Balrog (nicknamed 'Claw') to Vega. This has always been the case with SF2 games outside of Japan.

Because John Choi uses the original SF2 Sagat, not the Super Turbo one. You can choose the old version of every character in Super Turbo by choosing the character a different way, but I'm not sure how. I think they mention it near the beginning?

Actually, having children's-level games on the Evo main-stage, because they are new, is absurd. It's supposed to be high level competition. Making games for noobs, and adding them to evo makes it pretty silly. The best of the best has nothing to do with "new." That's like holding an "R/P/S event over chess...because it's new. I hope the next generation of games has more respect for the players.

you say the new games are children level games and yet the older games have less depth than the newer games. lol the only thing "high level" about sf2 and the other classic 2D games is the lack of combos making people focus more on neutral. that's literally it. everything else is simply nostalgia. As i can tell you that while SFV may look easy it still has the same fundamentals that are needed from classic sf2. You can't argue for combos being easy cuz in classic 2D games you only had about 2-3 hits in a combo that would take out 50% cuz scaling was busted. and lets not bring in balance becuase pretty much every classic 2D fighter had some busted stuff in comparison to todays fighting games at high level. bison in championship edition. Vega in super turbo. I could go on.

I heard that old T Hawk is better than the new T Hawk. I just can't see that. Old T Hawk is just new T Hawk without the super. The normals are the same, the specials are the same. I don't see any difference. Can someone please explain what old T Hawk has over new T Hawk?

That's ridiculous. The Akuma that can be selected isn't Shin Akuma. Like Street Fighter 5's Akuma, his alot weaker because only 1 diagonal air fire ball is available, raging demon isn't available and his damage is substantially less than Shin Akuma's.
