This dude did a pixel perfect jump (at/around 33:44) and no one clapped?! C'mon people!!! WTF!?! Show this dude some love, he was killin' it with the platforming. He even transitioned to a wall clip immediately after, which was sick. He also did it again at 38:19 and no reaction whatsoever! Very disappointed in the crowd, ya'll should be ashamed...

ActRaiser is an amazing game with fun game mechanics like world building along side sidescrolling. Its too bad nobody has picked up on this type of mechanics and expanded on them. I can see a ton of potential in this game. Its actually a shame Enix(this is before Square bought them) dropped the world building in the second game.

ACE Team is trying to resurrect the genre with SolSeraph. The building parts look more complicated, and the overworld monster combat looks more tower defense-ish. Looks cool, but it's ACE Team, so don't expect a great deal of polish.

Check out Soul Blazer. Its part of the same 'world' as actraiser and has a different take on town building. One I think is much more fun. Soul Blazer is just an amazing game all around.

What a fantastic soundtrack. Kind of wish there was more than one theme for the SimWhatever segments, as those sort of make up the bulk of the game, but the early-Baroque counterpoint is pretty cool anyway.

Stardust isn't bad ever--because it isn't really random at all. You just cast it when the boss is in the upper right corner of the screen, since that places the boss hotbox right at the origin of the bolts.

Odd, Strae is such a good speedrunner, but he doesn't seem to understand the Stardust spell at all. It's not an even spread of shots, doing a lot more damage if the boss is in the top right, bottom left, or on the diagonal between them. It does almost nothing if you use it when the boss is in the top left or bottom right. You can see the difference really clearly in the Ice Wyvern fight at 1:05:05.

this is late but i guarantee strae knows how it works. He was expecting the wyvern to swoop right there. You need to use the spell early so that the wyvern gets frozen at the middle of the screen. Even with perfect timing, sometimes not enough stardust hit the wyvern to keep them in place.

I remember playing this bloody game as a wee sprout....It always gave me an ominous feeling when I played it, (No doubt thanks to the demon trees with faces and music.) but also because I could never get past the Sim Angel section of the game due to the fact I did not like to read game dialogue.

Sorry, I know this comment is three years old by now, but I just have to say that I resonate so hard with that sentiment. I didn't want to do the Sim Angel segments either. I actually talked my MOM into doing them for me when I was a kid. xD We would just kinda talk as I watched her do these segments, but that's just how much they bored me as a kid. But man, they sure intrigue me now; there's so many little details to it than I thought there were.
