This whole run is a "Wait, you can do that???" This game is a gigantic rabbit hole.

This game was so good to play through blind when it came out. It's really hard, but so good to finally solve. And then it gets meta and just... Play the game!

This entire game lore wise will always have mysteries that even if you actually seen everything it can still go over your head
@MrSmegheneghan5 ай бұрын
It's probably worth noting, whilst this shows one of the _big_ endings of the game, plenty of what's available in the game has been buzzed over for the speed-run. If you're wanting to learn more, know that this run won't have fully spoiled everything - you can get into the game and still get a lot of "WOAH!" moments just playing it as normal! Spirialis did a solid job with this run - being able to deal with the four-eyed demon quite so handily is a feat unto itself!

Great job to the player and the couch for brining void stranger to gdq, and for them to actually explain broadly what the game is about and a lot of the things that make it special and cool. This is one of my favourite games that has come out recently and it's lovely to see it on a big stage!

a couple things to note abt the lore info: 1: Leviathan is actually position 4 in the Binsfeld classification, and absent in Lanterne (which is where Abaddon comes from instead, representing Sloth). at least according to wikipedia. 2: play zeroranger while you're not playing voidstranger because you got stuck

Reminder that this game is best played when blind since most of it's progression lies on knowledge, so I'd recommend people to play it first before watching as this has some hefty spoilers !! Still very great to see it live!

This game has so much stuff in it. There's like six different campaigns in the game.

is there any reason to not use the sif quick kill? I wasn't able to beat him normally and I thought that was the only way to kill him when I found it . . . . . . Slash the right familiar dude, this is where sif was standing before the fight. This is most likely referencing chrono trigger since lavos final form had the same weakness
@miraclePoints5 ай бұрын
It was a donation incentive to do it the hard way. Casually, the hard method is there to challenge yourself, and gets you the short extra cutscene at the end of the fight

Donation incentive - player got challenged to fight her properly, and so the fight was done properly!
@juliangrabowsky64183 ай бұрын
wait... i just one tabbed Cif by going for the right tiny dude... that not intentional?
@samp15382 ай бұрын
Its intentional as a way to finish the fight when approaching it as a puzzle, the long route is to chip at the hp as they did in the video. I believe they did the long way as it was a donation goal reward

this game looks very confusing because UI manipulation. How far can you get without coding the game?/ super rod?
@SimplyMavAgain4 ай бұрын
The game has multiple endings, with this being the last big one. None of the others require you to manipulate the UI or get the super rod and you're expected to slowly figure more of the game out as you go through those before you start really breaking things with the knowledge you gained. Void Stranger is like a 40/50 hour game. A half hour speed run won't be able to showcase the full scope of a players experience quite right, haha. It's a lot less confusing if you tackle one layer of the game at a time.
@AlcyonEldara3 ай бұрын
I have beaten the game with two characters without the sword, rod and wings. The burden (and perhaps the super rod) is necessary for the true ending if I remember correctly, some extra endings also require shenanigans, but most of the time doesn't require anything.
@Ironpecker3 ай бұрын
The ui manipulation is necessary only to reach b00 (there are other ways to move around fast, but ui manip is super fun and fast), it probably looks confusing to new players but it's something that you can discover in the game by going in the secret brand rooms (the 6x6 ones that teleport you to the items). As the runner and the couch said it's a game about gaining knowledge, so knowing all of that stuff is essentially like starting a jrpg at max level where you can kinda just bend the game to your will! But the way to get that understanding (and most importantly the understanding of the lore itself) is quite complex, long but really satisfying on a normal playthrough
