I rented this as a kid, and it DID come with the letter... I remember my brother and I figuring out what Rob the Robot was trying to tell us and VERY carefully applying water to the surface of the paper. It is a fond memory of mine that I share with my older brother.

Mike Jones for Smash Bros. Man, I remember seeing those double hearts after a tricky section... for those of you who missed out on this as kids, it's the same feeling as finding a new bonfire in Dark Souls: blessed salvation.

I loved this game to pieces. We rented it and then had to buy it when we realized we needed a "letter" to progress and read a message. Ah, the days before the Internet...

Well, when I had rented this with my brother, the game does say "dip it water". So we realized it was probably something that came with the game if you bought it. STILL WORTH IT.

A good way of describing the movement is that it is grid-based and discrete, rather than Zelda, which was grid-based continuous (pixel based)

When I first played this game, so long ago, after beating Maxie and draining the lake, during the pause when you're in the room, I had no idea what to do.. so I jumped into the water. I have no idea what possessed me to do it, maybe I thought the game was bugged, maybe I assumed that was the way out. Imagine my shock when I died and had to do the boss all over again.

That's an odd thing to say. But, hey. Give it a shot, and you'll probably enjoy it. It was very challenging and presented interesting obstacles. You had a bunch of different tools and weapons you could use, and the controls were very solid as well. Idk if you are old enough to remember the good-ol' NES days or not, but this was pretty innovative for its time, and a classic that can still be enjoyed today. Of course, you're probably just trolling. So if that is the case, good on ya! Enjoy your internets.

I bought this game used and had no idea what to do at the code part. Thankfully, the previous owner of the game had a chapter 8 save on the cartridge. One day I got curious and played his save, beat the game and saw the 747 picture in the credits. I didn't know the game came with a letter until years later.

wish the in-game music was just a bit louder, their commentary overpowers it too much for me.
