FYI, in the original Red and Blue, I think the truck is moveable. The Mew, though, was programmed in. I think I've moved that truck before, without glitches (I think), but there was no Mew, only some other items.

in gen 1 storing a pkmn to the pc doesnt heal. you can have 5 fainted pkmn and switch your last one with a fainted one in the pc, leave the pc and 3 steps later you black out. (funfact: you can take only 2 steps, save, reload and have an additional 3 steps to move. you can basically go(surf/fly) wherever you want with no pokemon left)

Trainer escape glitch (the same reason old man works) is fun, post the virtual console release of the original gen games on 3ds I had a chance to have fun with that and it's possible to have as many mews as you can catch pre misty. Scykoh does a better job explaining that though than I can.

Mew was coded into the game as a secret, right before launch. It was meant to be a secret and was given away at special events during the reign of RGBY. But of course, this game is held together with duct tape so, it is pretty easy to make things happen.

Mew was never suppose to be in the game. It's mentioned in the games storyline around Mewtwo, but was never put into the list of programmed Pokemon. Mew takes up the space used for the developer tools; when they removed the tools 2 weeks before release, there was just enough space to cram in one last Pokemon. This is why Mew's moveset is so... weird. It can Transform, and can learn every TM/HM, because they didn't have time or space to make anything more advanced. So they just ticked all the boxes, threw together a sprite, and let it out into the world. It actually wasn't intended to be accessible. They figured maybe they could send out a promotion or something, but the players were never suppose to know it was there. However, with how glitchy the original games were, Mew was found in some games but not others, which really helped increase the mystery around the game.
