All speedruns are impressive in that they show perfection of craft within a particular game and an understanding of its specific mechanics. However they types of runs always impress me most. Mitch made this look so easy, but these games are super punishing. Absolutely amazing to watch.

This was a good GDQ for WRs. There were two instances of back-to-back WRs being accomplished. One was during Sonic Block. Can't remember where the other one was - might have been Awful Block.

this is easily a top three run of this GDQ for me, top notch gameplay from mitch, really impressive GAME from OrangeExpo, excellent technical commentary from GlitchCat (absolute treasure of the Mario community), and ofc GPB's combination of knowledge, hype, and passion. loved it.

What a GDQ... That questioning if 2 world records have been broken for the same game at the same GDQ actually happened with the Diablo 3 run (they broke both the 3 and 4 person records with 3 people), so doing it again was legit a valid thing to ask, given such excellent precedent. Then there was an otherwise high concentration of world records the rest of the week, 4-ish others if memory serves. It says something that this world record stands out even among all the others this GDQ. Congrats Mitch on a truly amazing showing, and also for beating even this amazing record a mere day later.
