How to Safely clean a PS5

A non-narrorated video of me cleaning my PlayStation 5. In early celebration of the original video of me cleaning the PS4 Pro, I decided to clean my PS5 for youtube! The side panels of the device can be removed with no tool by pulling back and downward on them from either side. After both side panels are removed and cleaned of any dust or residue, the rest of the system can be cleaned. My PlayStation happened to have become the home of a small bug. The fan can be accessed from both sides of the device for cleaning, this is much simpler than the method of cleaning the PS4. Aside from this, the are two dust-collection points that are designed to be vaccumed out. My console was not very dirty so the cleaning went fairly smooth. The device is able to be disassembled further however this will void your factory guarantee. A link to the official teardown of the PS5 will be below. You should probably change your house duct/furnace filters because that’s a lot of dust. All you’re doing is blowing dust further into the console by blasting it with compressed air from the outside.

The PS5 has 2 "dust collection" points that sony recommends vaccuming occasionally. This mixed with regular cleaning should help your console live for longer than an unmaintained one!

Four screws and a click and you can clean the whole fan and vaccum kt carefully inside and reach a bit of the heatsink 😙

You need to clean up the insides too. Especially when it is that dusty. I swear that the dust also accumulates inside the heatsink. The noise of your PS5 booting up will lessen once you clean it thouroughly

I never cleaned my PS5 since 2020 and I tell you it’s dusty as shit. Our AC is also shit, when we move into the new house, then I must clean it.

The PS5 is very convenient to do light cleanings on. The PS4 system was not user friendly for cleaning/maintenance

God dang, dude. Do you smoke or burn fires? I'm trying to figure out how it's that stained. My original 360 doesn't look that bad. You should really fully take it apart to clean the fan and heat sink based on your air quality. Also, go get a cheap hepa air cleaner (refurb Winix) and run it 24/7.

Compressed air or canned air can be harmful when cleaning the device. If the dust doesn't have anywhere to escape it will become trapped and make for an even worse situation. Additionally the air pressure causing the fan to spin can have harmful effects to electrical components! However it can be a helpful tool when used correctly

If your PS5 is vertical on the stand put a paper towel over the top it doesn't allow over heating and stops a lot of that dust,also when you vacuum run the nozzle over all the grills that will get rid of a lot of it too. Every six months take off the cover and again use the vacuum not an air can as that just pushes the dust further into the system.
