What I do appreciate about Jonathan compared to other experts that review video game guns is that he understands where the line between realism and game design/game balancing goes. He immediately understood that the smoke trail on the grenade launcher is a game design thing to make the weapon easier to operate rather than just an incorrect design.

A couple comments on the nail gun: they do make nail guns with an onboard pneumatic reservoir. Also, one time when I was working at a paintball field, I actually chronoed my finish nailer. I don't remember the exact number, but it was well below what a paintball or airsoft gun would fire. Frankly, unless you were actually pressing it against someone, a nail gun would not be a threatening weapon except perhaps as a club

@AmaraTheBarbarian8 ай бұрын
A 12 gauge with a scope is not an uncommon sight where i am. For the longest time rifle hunting was illegal, even now we have substantial caliber restrictions, and shotshells are also not allowed for deer season. Meaning if you wanted to take a deer here before restrictions were loosened somewhat it would be with a slug gun. You're also allowed a pistol, as long as the bullet is minimum .357" diameter, the case length was at least .850" long, the cartridge is straight walled, and the ammo used an expanding bullet. We're very specific, which is probably why you can still find a good amount of 40s&w guns here to go alongside your, sometimes scoped, slug gun.

The rust placement is based on whats called a cavity map or an AO map, when you texture a model you "bake" a set of maps which are based on the shape of your model. The rust distribution looks likes its based on an occlusion map, which essentially is a map of the magnitude of how how much ambient light can reach the surface. It's commonly used for this sort of effect.
