It would be cool if they explained the relationship between old and new gods. Media was born from art, inspiration, and beauty. Technology was born from crafts and science. In old myths, birth was meant to represent how concepts flow from one another. It would be cool to find out the new gods are literally children of the old ones.

In one of the intro notes in the book (10th anniversary edition) Gaiman said one of his critics pointed out that the true leader of the American New Gods should have been Sports. I'd say that he missed a lot of potential new gods. Given how much of media is covered by Technical Boy, Media should really have been Fame. Science ought to be a new god, especially forensic-type science. There's a mention of the Intangibles, the money-based gods, but they should have a much bigger presence than they do. I'd say Self-Concept or Self-Esteem ought to be a new god too. And don't forget Partisan Politics.

Nope, Low Key Lyesmith and Mr. World are one and the same. Think back to the final battle; the entire thing was a long con by Wednesday, and Loki in the guise as World. They were trying to get the two sides to kill each other off; they didn't want a winning side. Wednesday being a god of battle would have gotten a huge power boost from the conflict it's self, and Loki being a god of chaos would feed off of the chaos in the aftermant cause by the loss of so many gods.

Why are the new gods just named after what they are gods of? That's like calling Zues, lightning guy. I took it upon myself to give them names as it just bothered me. I checked how other gods got their names as a reference. Zues roughly translates to shine or sky, and Hera to queen. How about Clarus for media, that being the Latin word for famous, and Technicae for technical boy, being a Latin word for technology.
