@@AtoManPL I showed something similar to Rattle 6 months or so ago where you can buy the fake card, slab case and PSA label just unassembled. There were about 50 to choose from including Moonbreon, the Latios n Latias alt, just tons of expensive stuff. All the cert numbers were active at that time. He and the chats response was basically that they weren't surprised. I had hoped there may have been some looking into it, I supplied links but that was the end of it.

2 things. seller committed a felony or the worker committed a felony by swapping the card. if it was the seller they have his info and ID and can be charged but since he hasnt it leads to the worker doing the dirty work

It smells like a rotten egg vs a GameStop issue. I agree. I’ve dropped off soooo many cards at GameStop and they are simply a middle man with no training other than to take the card and mail it in. Then when I try to sell they scan the cards and get offered a price. Doesn’t make sense this got all the way through the system.

GameStop has a checklist for PSA graded Card trade ins, 3 sections They are supposed to reject the trade for anything failing.. here is whats on the checklist. (Holder) Injection spot - feel bump on bottom middle case. Ticks - Hold Case flat look from side see 3 ticks. Part Numbers - Bottom Right for part# need or reads 1T, 27 or 21. Rails - see 2 vertical and horizontal lines that hold card in place. 90 degree angle - See perfect 90 degree angle at corners or case, not rounded. (Label) Blacklight test - PSA label blacklight, reject if label glows. Lighthouse label- Jewels loupe, see psa or clct nasdaq mixed in background. Blacklight test- see 6 PSA logos on left side, 3 above, 3 below. (Tampering) Run finger along edges feeling for glue, excess plastic, case being open, check for stains or discoloration, check label front and back for foreign ink.

Generally, I insist on gently touching cards that are supposed to have a texture. I know, worst thing ever but if I'm buying a card I'd like to be sure and the touch test doesn't fail. Fake cards do not feel right on the surface & their holo doesn't reflect properly. I won't buy slabbed anything - the slab can throw off the holo and the texture can't be felt. Gamestop should have at the bare minimum scanned that barcode and checked the numbers. Absolutely shameful.

PSA grades super clone pokemon cards printed in china, maybe catch 1 out of 100. Unless you pulled the card yourself, or at least watched it be pulled no way you can trust the hobby anymore. They make amazing super clone rolex watches, the only way you can tell is removing the movement. They sell them for $600, probably cost them $100 to make. With Pokemon, they sell them for $600 and it cost not even $1 per card after all supplies and machinery cost, of course they are going to print these like crazy.

Employees that don’t get any proper training in the collective hobby, and collectors get screwed thinking that they got something for a good deal. check it out, look at real examples. If you are too new and don't trust your own skills yet, seek out other people who have been around long enough and post clear photos of the card for them. Not in a sleeve or a top loader, and get good lighting and try to catch the light so it shows the texture and another photo that shows off the holofoil. These are usually the easiest give aways to if its fake or not.

grading needs to get way more precise and secure before i start tryna increase my collectons value. too much worry about. it getting stolen or faked in some way by a shitty psa flip dipper. the maynaise risk, the dick drawing risk. any risk of damage in general. too much to worry about. in the future theyll get it right or another company will come out and do it right hopefully. either way id make sure to drop the cards off directly at a psa location. to trust any shipping company is scary.

grading is subjective entirely. Someone could just be jaded and smash 10 on everything and leave early. Those graders don't get paid much. Also it must be maddening spending 30-40 hours a week looking at cards and giving them a grade. Thousands of cards a week. And yes, its such a subjective thing. What I consider a gem mint card is not what most PSA 10 cards look like. We all have different standards.

Probably. All collectables reach a point where the bubble bursts, sometimes it happens several times. Right now Pokemon is riding on nostalgia and big spender bros who are determined to get PSA 10s, ETBs, and hoard away everything TCG which pushes prices up as demand grows. Eventually, that'll fade out and you'll see only truly rare items keep any value which is great for people like me who just collect for the fun of it and don't really see it as a monetary investment.

Again I'll bring this up, PSA IS PURELY A SCAM. That pokemon card is entirely off center and rated a 10. Yuigoh cards that are MINT, PERFECT OUT OF THE PACK, AND PERFECTLY CENTERED, get graded as 6's and 7's. That pokemon card is only a 6 due to how severely misprinted off-center it is. This is just another factor proving that the PSA grades unfairly rate almost all the pokemon cards as 8+ regardless of TRUE CONDITION of card, while yugioh is graded as 7 and unders.
