That's happened to me a few times but only for crappy games. When they won't take them, I've seen a few people in the parking lot and just been like I'll give you 20$ for all of it, giant stacks of sports games or whatever, worth it for me but nothing special.

I’ve had that happen to me as well. A mother and son walked into EB Games and they had some OG Xbox and 360 games, EB didn’t take them or offered cents on the dollar for them. I stopped them outside as I overheard what EB offered them and gave them $10 for the bag. I got Morrowind (LE), Buffy Chaos bleeds and a few others. Great snipe for sure:)

Watching from Australia where it's also called EB Games haha.. I've done this before too.. most EB stores here offer to "throw old games in the bin" for the customers. We know they don't end up in the bin... Also.. $40? Is that the price of a fix in Canada? In Australia you know they are on the gear because they only ever want $60 for their stuff =P
