My theory about the other 2 failed scout-fusions we are told about: if we go with Matt's idea that it was planned from the start, I think the term 'failure' in that context didn't mean failing to make a mindless zombie - quite the opposite - I think they had tried to make a co-dependent two minded puppet man in the past (it is a vital step in the plan after all) like we end up playing, but the two previous attempts ended up being the usual feeder type hosts. We were actually a success. If you think there is a flaw in this thinking do let me know, I am obsessed with discussing this game lol

There's another ending where you say Scout wouldn't fit into the real world. its basically the same thing, except a different 'speech'. (EddieVR got this ending if you wanna watch it) She starts uncontrollably coughing, and says "Host, I don't wanna go" (which, kind of haunts me), basically confirming that she actually does die. Kind of sad the more you think about it :( (but I do really wanna know others thoughts on this :D)

Fun fact. The puppets are **NOT** illiterate. Actually they have their own language. Seen near the end of the game there’s a Billboard with a bunch of weird symbols on it. If you body swap to scout, you will be able to read it. Another fun fact: mortimer meant to pass the button to you. If you stay at the tea party. He says so. This is a theory I don't agree with, for these reasons: 1: Why would Scout, after taking over our bodies and having a heart to heart with us (and remember, during this heart to heart the supposed possession had already begun, meaning she had already effectively "won" if you go by this theory. And yet, she chose to..connect with us? Her dialog at the end makes sense ONLY as dying words.), choose to take her puppet body off of your wrist??? 2: Why do we play as *someone else* in the 2nd playthrough? Why not stay as the player in the doll's body that we're apparently stuck in? One could easily say that in the ending we're already the next person, since Mortimer alludes to us being a fan of dolls in the intro. And 3 3: The "swap" didn't begin until she lost an arm. Is there no explanation for that? Or is there something about us leaving the building that just let her swipe our brains? It just doesn't line up...

I suspect the previous puppet being removed is just a representation of the game's save system. When you want to load a saved game, you put on the same puppet you chose at the beginning of the game, however this time, you do it in the menu area, with the puppet itself having appearing here after you've started the game and made your first save.
