Hello and a big thank you for your video. I'm trying to create an application, and thanks to your valuable advice, I've already managed to perform several interesting operations. I'm still struggling to create a private page where each user can input their own information without it being visible to everyone, similar to applications that allow you to list things to do or books to read. I'm not giving up; I'll eventually figure it out. I'll continue to watch more videos. I also greatly appreciate your articulation and your voice; your explanations are easy to follow for a foreigner.

Even after selecting the "Public with email" option, I'm not given the option to filter the visibility to signed in user... I usually am given this option.

Hi Robert Petitto, I've been a long-time fan, watching and rewatching your videos regularly. Today, a new 'issue' came up and I came to check if there's a way to avoid it. The duplicate nickname check can be avoided during the app registration, but is there any way to avoid it when editing data with an already created account?

Not in the native Edit Screen, but if you make a custom edit screen that uses the same logic as onboarding, then yea.

Great work Robert. Please is it possible to have to Header title that is not exactly the one on the tab? For example, can I have a Home tab that doesn't show home on the top of the screen? I.e, having a static header just like Instagram?

Love this tutorial, thank you. I have set visibility to 'show tab when ProfileCompletedOn is empty' and filtered the data by 'email is signed-in user' but the welcome screen does not appear after I sign in with an incomplete profile. The profile contains a name and email, but does not contain a username or photo and so there is no 'ProfileCompletedOn' date stamp. Do you have any guesses on what I missed in your excellent instructions? Thank you.

This is mostly conceptual. Many apps nowadays leverage some type of gamification mechanic. This series shows what's possible in Glide-and I really only scratch the surface

Quick question, why in the video did you change the users page to My Profile when in todays version of the app there is already a users profile page. Should we still create the My Profile Page or can we just use the locked user profile page?

You might have row owners turned on. You’ll either need to turn it off or create a separate profiles sheet to check against.

Yes :( Swipe was removed from Glide Apps → Looks like I'll need to revamp my series again 😮‍💨 . For multiple class selection, you'll need to slplit the classes using a split text column and then make the relation using that column.

For On-boarding, I wondered if you could advise me how to add my students Google for Education account to their user profiles which I have made & connected. I am so scared of messing up the template I have already with emails, but the email way of login in is sooooooo slooooooow. :( I am using Google forms to On-board students (it is the template from Scott Hebert that you helped with). How are you adding images to your database? Or using Glide tables or Google sheets? If you’re using Google sheets, are you inserting a URL to the image or are you inserting an image directly into the Google sheet?

Hi Robert, Great video. I learned a lot from your Gamify series. But now I have a question and hope you can help. It is about the ABOUT page in the "hamburger menu". I would like to hide that one and create my own. How can I hide that option/page? My second question is, I like the Send Feedback option on the about page. How can I recreate that option, when I create my own about page? The reason I want to create my own About page is that I don't want to show the SHARE link. I am using the FREE plan, and I know that I only can remove the SHARE and QR code if I have the PRO plan. But again, I liked the Send Feedback option, so I want to recreate that. I hope you can help me and maybe explain it step by step, how to do this. Again, I am still new and still learning. Many thanks in advance for your time and effort. :-)

Ya, only way to hide the about is if you have pro. To recreate the submit feedback, the easiest way is to create a form button that writes to a sheet in your app and then has a "send email" action upon form submission.

Hey Robert, so I have been tracking stats for my gamified class through a Numbers Sheet and have it set to change the stats as the student's level. As I get things shifted over to this method, I wonder if I will be able to preserve that. I followed along with building this and stuttered right away when setting up the classes and the stats. Should my changing stats according to levels go somewhere else?

There are several ways to approach tracking user stats. This video presents one method where I try to automate the stat boost upon leveling up. Without knowing how you track student progress and stats, I can’t offer much of a recommendation.

You'll want to just add your row of data to the spreadsheet manually...then the app will recognize you upon sign in.

Hey, Robert! Thanks for this video, awesome stuff. I’m trying to replicate what you’ve shown and have troubles with Template column trying to match class tab with users tab. I do not see user email as you were mentioning in your video and for several times I’ve checked if I did everything right with the user tab at the beginning. Can’t find any difference with your actions but still can’t see user email in Template column settings. In this pop up menu glide offers to choose “The email address of the user” which is the same thing. But after choosing this option and creating a Relation column it can’t find/relate user email. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks again for this video and many others of yours, they are pure gold.

Make sure you’ve set up user profiles by visiting the User Profiles tab and selecting the source sheet.

First attempt was to replicate what you’ve done in existing app. But even after starting everything from the top again and setting the User tab as you described can’t see it

Never mind, I found my mistake. Username for my profile was empty so the Relation column couldn’t find it lol. As for the Tamplate column I had to choose option “Email address of app user” it just indicates differently now, not like in your video. Anyway thanks for answering.
