You said you wouldn't do reviews. I'm very glad you changed your mind Paul. This is an excellent review - the clearest and most concise one I've seen for this game by far. Your usual high quality production values allied to a no-nonsense, honest approach to what you liked and didn't like make this stand out from a lot of other approaches to the review format. I hate to say it, but I think you should do a lot more reviews: I for one will be very much hoping that you do!

That's pretty much what I do 80% of my time. I create how-to-play videos, write and edit rulebooks and do demos at gaming events for various publishers :)

Great summary. Just got myself a copy of this and it is a really great game - so many options and I love how the player boards are designed to fit the cards and show the relevant information. Can be a swine for AP though choosing what part of the cards you want to use though. There is also a great automa on BGG for solo play that works really well.

Yep, just a shame the player board dont completely fit all the cards when you have lots of them. Especially when sleeved :)

I've not found it too bad. My cards are sleeved in FFG green sleeves and they just fit side by side without too much fuss. Another couple of mm clearance around each space would have been better though. It also helps if you fit risers to the underside of 3 corners to lift it up a little.

Stronghold have picked some excellent games to publish (or re-publish), and I agree that this game is really good. I've yet to have any trouble with the cards, and I'll disagree about not placing a marker in the grey craft building - not only is it important to mark that you've completed that one once (I forget, even with my marker there!) but the number of markers is intentionally limited.
