Not a fan of the fact that they added actual enemies end the threat of death to the first game because it defeats the whole purpose of the story. In the first game if you wanted the good ending you were supposed to purposely embrace the ghost whenever you saw her. Now it wants you to avoid her which completely ruins the twist

I’m excited. I liked the potential of Layers 1 and it was one of the more fun haunted house games I’ve played recently. Layers of Fear also reminds me a lot of Silent Hill in a way

One thing I kind of wish they hadn't done with this new version is redesign the wife ghost. She doesn't look as scary as she did in the original. It is good that she can chase you now, but being able defend yourself with that lantern takes away from it. And also in general I feel the remake of the first one has lost its PT feel from the original. A shame really.

Looking forward to this one. The new Amnesia: The Bunker looks interesting but can’t believe Frictional Games is still using the same outdated game engine they’ve always used from the beginning of the Amnesia series. Plus, hearing the new Amnesia gane has no auto saves, relies on time management, and is quite challenging/relentless makes me definitely skip it and get Layers of Fear instead… I don’t game for a challenge and I like my fear without frustration.

I beat Amnesia bunker blind in 3:54:10 without running out of fuel or anything, died 5 times and reloaded save a good few when I knew it was over but honestly, not that hard on normal difficulty and its fairly easy to hide/run to the safe save room and lock doors but Amnesia bunker is a banger of a game man

​@@lewispooper3138 don't be a gatekeeper. Some people play games for their stories and that is a completely valid reason to play a game. There's a reason developers add accessibility options. Video games are supposed to be fun and relaxing and you use them to unwind after a hard day at work. Video games are not supposed to be stressful and upsetting. Unless you're a masochist.

It wasn’t that great of a game. Maybe worth a playthrough but not much happens. You have no threat of actually dying and losing progress. Outside of KZbin “reactions” this game was ehhh

I changed the way I saw these Layers games. Rather than seeking scares and danger, I began to just enjoy the ride in the same way I might enjoy a surreal dream. Playing Layers of Fear 2 stoned on a rainy day over the weekend is such a great way to escape the stresses of life for a little while.

@@jarlwhiterun7478 I don’t watch reaction videos but these games got popular over KZbin reactions by over selling how scary they were. Losing progress not necessarily but having an actual threat would be nice. Normal mode had some “gotcha deaths”. Safe mode is just a walking sim

You can die in this remake. You were always able to die in the sequel but now they added that to the original game as well in this remake.
