Big Smoke stayed in the background, but was very active with his plans. It was going according to plan, until Beverly got whacked instead of Sweet. So CJ returned. He caused a delay, but CRASH and Big Smoke used him for their common means, since CRASH liked subdued gangs more than active gangs. Now, when Sweet got locked up and CJ was in exile, Big Smoke's plan flourished. He had carte blanche and united the families. He got his crack palace and became the king at the cost of the community, whom were all on crack. Also note that we never get to know what the witness and the dossier that CRASH wanted taken care of said. Perhaps a smear campaign against Big Smoke? Now, Mike Torino was interested in this story (I was involved in battling threats in Latin America BY ANY MEANS NESSECAIRY.), but when it got waaaay out of hand he decided to release Sweet (I need him alive as much as you do). Because he knew that would keep CJ on his toes in fighting the drug problem. But that's just a theory.
@gaminginvestigators
@gaminginvestigators Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you're totally right! 🙂 Actually, we have a weird feeling that if the attempt of assassinating Sweet on Grove Street was successful, then nobody could stop CRASH unit and Big Smoke really. As for the witness and the dossier you pointed out, it's really hard to determine the content of the dossier. One thing is certain though: it was something against the CRASH unit. And about Mike Toreno, we presume that such shifts in government agencies occur pretty often, you know. Of course, some of the goals are reached, but when something goes wrong, the agency tries to find a way to turn it into something positive for them and their "clients". And we can imagine that the CIA probably started seeing Big Smoke as a monster they created partly and wanted to be eliminated so helping CJ in the end was a good move.

@@gaminginvestigators Good points. The ambiguity of the dossier is what makes it's hard to give it a place in the story. So yeah, that is just speculation on my end. And yeah, I think that Mike was left holding the bag with the Loco Syndicate (you got us into this mess, you get us out), which made him rethink his strategy and use Sweet as leverage. Long term thinking.

Smoke was clever with his plans but he screwed up several times, such as his attempt at having Sweet killed. Tenpenny wanted Sweet gone as well in order to benefit from the crack cocaine sales. Smoke’s deal with Tenpenny is probably liken to that of Michael and Dave. Smoke wouldn’t reveal Tenpenny’s involvement with the crack empire and pay Tenpenny his cut for helping him organise the operation and Tenpenny would turn a blind eye for Smoke’s activities. Smoke and Tenpenny probably originally used Carl as a means to eliminate gangsters who opposed the idea of Smoke leading the crack empire, and Tenpenny rescued Carl to further use him. Also it’s possible that GSF was supposed to be added to Smoke’s alliance under his leadership, but the gang was too weakened so he disbanded it and those who survived joined the Ballas.

See, this is where I get to thinking the Big Smoke character is largely based off Suge Knight. If I'm not mistaken, I think I'd read somewhere that Suge Knight indeed had a rather large drug pipeline running through the regions of South Central L.A. and Compton - in the end police chose to focus more on Knight's incessant, repeat incidences of violence. I DO KNOW for a fact that before the death of Tupac, Suge Knight maintained a fairly decent and cordial relationship with various Crips gangs of the region, despite Knight himself being a Blood gang member. There exist online various interviews with members of the Bloods and the Crips and they all seem to corroborate the idea that Suge and the Crips for the most part had been on the same page. Even former living members of Knight's MOB Piru gang seem in accordance. These oddball relationships probably allowed Suge to expand his business and drug influence on a much larger scale. I also believe there were interviews done with a few members of Suge Knight's former gang who'd corroborated the Suge had been the one to introduce corrupt police officers into the mix so that he could keep in-line members of the gang who forcefully disagreed with him at times. Although arguably so, it's interesting that OG Loc was the one trying to break into the rap game as opposed to Big Smoke. Perhaps this serves as just another curveball example of how Rockstar avoided giving away obvious clues. Happy Holidays, everyone!!! 🎄

This is quite interesting! 🤔 So it seems like Big Smoke could be based not only on Rick "Freeway" Ross but also on Suge Knight. Happy Holidays! 🙂
@angryducklinginstitution76
@angryducklinginstitution76 Жыл бұрын
@@gaminginvestigators I apologize for all the repeat messages, but yep, I think that may indeed be the case. A deadly combination of gangster drug dealer Freeway Ricky and hip-hop music mogul Suge Knight, all rolled into one character. As much as I dislike speculating all of the circumstances, rumors and conspiracy theories surrounding the death of rapper Tupac Shakur (as I'm not 2pac, I wasn't there the night he was shot in Vegas nor have I ever met any of the people he'd known), I remember once reading an article online somewhere in which case people close to Shakur circa the time of his death had claimed that Tupac was about to snitch and go public on the rampant drug dealings/pipeline Suge Knight had been running at the time. According to the article, Tupac heavily disapproved of Knight's drug game for two main reasons: the past struggles his mother Afeni Shakur had with drugs (which at that time had resulted in Tupac distancing himself considerably from his mother, only to later reconnect with her after she'd gotten herself clean), as well as the extreme amount of guilt Pac himself had felt from his own past experiences as a former drug dealer in the streets of South Central L.A. Yet another article I'd once read quoted Tupac in his own words, along the lines of how Tupac said he'd been heart broken when complete strangers whom he'd never met would approach him to buy drugs, via selling their engagement ring. So I think his past foray into drug dealing really had a negative impact on Tupac, who was simply a good guy deep down inside all along, albeit a tad bit rough around the edges due to his unfair life circumstances of poverty and being a victim of prejudice before he'd made it big in the rap game. We also have some actual inkling in real life that this version of events holds at least some form of veracity to it. Keefe D, the yet living uncle to Orlando Andersen (Andersen being the deceased Crip who'd gotten into a scuffle with Tupac at the MGM Grand Casino the night of Tupac's subsequent shooting in Vegas, also rumored to have most likely been Tupac's assassin), was a major, MAJOR big time drug dealing Crip. In fact, the only reason Keefe D ended up running his mouth about how, in his own words, his nephew Orlando was indeed the shooter was because LAPD Investigators had threatened to charge him on the federal level purely over the amount of drug dealing Keefe D had done, lest he took a plea bargain and divulged what he knew concerning the murder of Tupac. What's more, the final nail in the coffin here is that both Suge Knight and Keefe D had been and continued to remain close friends stretching back all the way to their days of high school. Happy Holidays to you all, indeed! May God Bless you all, fans and followers included! 🎄

Both CJ and Big Smoke were the island caricatures of Suge Knight. Like one version is more criminal drug lord type. With dealing with rivaling gangs. And the other one does involve with the music industry. And making a managerial record difference.
@angryducklinginstitution76
@angryducklinginstitution76 Жыл бұрын
@@elperrodelautumo7511 You know, that says a lot, too. If both CJ and Big Smoke are in reality split half-and-half characteristics of a sole person in the real world (with said real-world person actually serving as one of the major inspirations for the storyline of this game), to my mind this tends to speak volumes concerning how that real-world person foolishly circumvents themselves. Given Suge Knight's behavior in real life, I'm most certain there are many ways in which Suge was hypocritically shooting himself in the foot (as the saying goes). And this serves as one of the core messages in this game. Gang members have a great disdain for both the law and police in general, yet if you were to combine the primary colors of both gangs within the game (green + purple) depending on which medium you're working in (e.g. the print industry, or in painting certain types of variant colors such as dioxazine purple + phthalo green = black), you end up getting black or a bluish-black color, or what is also the primary color worn by the majority of police officers in this game. The same concept seems to ring true in regards to the two main casinos featured in this game, too: combining the red, white and blue lights that adorn the facade of CJ and Wu-Zi's Four Dragons Casino at night and you'll most likely end up with a color such as magenta, lavender, pink or any other variation of color akin to the color purple. As CJ ironically squares up against the competing Caligula's Casino decked out in primarily green lighting (the definitive edition seems to have actually split Caligula's in two different colors - turquoise and yellow - which actually produces green when combined). Green of course being representative of Grove Street. There also seems to be other, lesser known elements of the story of 2pac, Suge Knight and the Notorious B.I.G. that tend to crop up in this game. Remember how Tupac's mother Afeni had once been a member of the original Black Panther Party ( with the original Black Panthers having been markedly different from the racist hate group the "New Black Panther Party)? The real life 1960s Black Panther Party eventually ended up splitting into two separate, warring gangs: Bloods vs. Crips. Hence the significance of green + purple = black. Remember the in-game mission where you're taking photos of Ryder, T-Bone Mendez, and government agent Mike Toreno? Well, there's also a well-known documentary concerning both of the murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. The documentary was directed by Nick Broomfield, and in the documentary Broomfield is actually presented with spy photos of the Notorious B.I.G., provided to him by B.I.G. co-rapper Lil' Cease and Voletta Wallace herself, Biggie's own mother. Both of them inform Broomfield on camera that said photos had been taken by the FBI, who had been saying on the Notorious B.I.G. circa the timing of his death. In the documentary Broomfield subsequently calls the number of an F.B.I. agent given to him by Lil' Cease and Voletta Wallace, with F.B.I. agent on the other line demanding to know how Broomfield ended up with his number.

I don't know if this has been asked from you or others previously, but I got a interesting thought in my head about Big Smoke: - What could have happened if Big Smoke won in the end? Like he escaped or killed CJ. Manage to survive to the next day. Could this have any dramatic effect on GTA world, considered that there are other big shots and many gangs in Los Santos and other cities. - Even with the victory keys in his hand, is there future for Big Smoke AT ALL. Winning a war if one thing, but now when you have your money and empire, you have to run the hole damn thing and it ain't easy like playing Civilization. Even if Big Smoke manage to safe himself and his fortune, he ain't gonna be safe forever. Big and powerful crime lord draws big and powerful enemies. Then starts round two.

Big Smoke is literally the most complex player throughout this whole game.. like forreal … people in the comments blaming sweet for his betrayal .. I highly doubt it , survival wasn't what he was after … as you can clearly see he wanted to rule it all and for himself .. he would've just assassinated sweet & took over and used the grove to help him along the way while giving them crumbs in the process. Big Smoke aimed for the top always .. anyone he invited or convinced them to come abroad would've just be a pawn for him to use to get it done quicker .. you don't go from "supposedly helping a gang you belong to become strong through a means of drug trafficking" to "I am the drug trafficking" overnight.

There could’ve been Families in either San Fierro, Las Venturas, and Cascade City, because the Families gang shouldn’t be a Los Santos only gang. Maybe they have other sets located elsewhere but the majority of the family gang sets just happens to be located in Los Santos. Maybe if gta v and gta San Andreas we’re only one universe, they should’ve been joining the Johnson Syndicate. Using the orange grove street families of Ganton and maybe South Los Santos. It was said from Lamar that they went CEOs and become suburb soccer people. Maybe the old east Los Santos was destroyed by an earthquake in 1998. That story was inspired by from the cyberpunk mmorpg table top game. It makes sense that gta v is more focused in Los santos city. Like vine wood and having a smaller south Los santos. Maybe there could’ve been combat zones. Like crazy street gangs who live in a real war zone. Rather than regular street gangs who live in a ghetto rather than a war zone.

Except Rockstar made CJ directly oppose cocaine from the get-go, so he wouldn't have agreed to the drug business. Especially since CJ spends the entire game building up businesses so he wouldn't even want the money either

The thing about Big Smoke is that he's someone who let greed one of the seven deadly sins consume him to the point where he is not human.
