You forgot to add that the access to guns in other countries is much more limited. In Europe you cannot just go to Wallmart and buy whatever gun you like. So GTA in e.g. Europe wouldn't be very diverse in subject of guns and other such weapons.

Guns and Cars, it's a no brainer.

I think in Europe most schools learn British English, not because of the differences like lorry ("WTF is lorry" -Trevor) but because of the origin, classic culture etc. OC most pupils will tend to use the American one as they know it from the culture.

My wishlist other than USA. Russia, England, Japan, Mexico, China, India, Germnay, Spain, Brazil, South Africa and Philippines or better yet make GTA ONLINE WORLD where all these countries (island) are included in one map with 2~3 min distance away each other.

I can answer in seconds. The roads. American roads are easier to work with. I mean we almost got two games set in Tokyo, but was scrapped because of the difficulty of translating the roads to gameplay. Oh and GTA London would love to have a word.

I spent 10 years of my life growing up in Russia. I remember seeing an episode of Zack & Cody, which was the first time I saw Santa Monica Piere, my first thought was GTA San Andreas. I would love for there to be a GTA game based on Brazil or Mexico.

I think it's also because the devs were Scottish, so maybe some sort of fascination of the USA had something to do with it. I dunno about that Japan argument. The Yakuza series is getting bigger and bigger in the rest of the world. Despite the mostly Japanese nature of them. So A GTA set there could work. People Enjoyed Sleeping Dogs after all, and that wasn't even Japan. America isn't the only place to have lots going on for it, but Rockstar will stay there if they want. America is cool, but so are other places.

they can at least make a game or kind of dlc for gta 4 to tell the story of niko people like him and would love to know his backstory in a different country or just add cities to online multiplayer at least major landmaks and some local streets just to connect

USA also have one of the best Geography and Topography in the world.

Another reason why gta is only in America is because we're the only country that allows the right to own guns and it would feel weird to have a gta game set in Canada for example where you're only allowed to carry knives or baseball bats when gta is supposed to have guns in it. (this may be a bad example don't hate me too much lol)

Ironically despite GTA 1 taking place in America technically it was released in the European continent and didn't get released in the us until one year later. Crazy isn't it?

If high ethnic diversity and a high crime rate (which I'm sure aren't connected to each other in any way(!)) are important for a G.T.A. setting, then I'm pretty sure that London would be very ideal. The city is filled to the brim with foreigners, and people get stabbed there like every single day.
