If you are wanting to play online games, you will either have to hook up the game system using wifi, or plug the LAN cable into it (unplugging it from the TV).

well, if you have a disc based PlayStation 5, you can either insert a purchased game disc or you can go to the PlayStation Store and install a game by downloading it;; you can also download a purchased game from the Library folders

It's hard to diagnose anything from afar, but try these. Make sure system is on. Try a different HDMI cord. Make sure you changed the TV to the HDMI input (does not matter if it's just one port, you still have to switch to it with the remote.) Try another TV.

The PS5 should work on any set that has an HDMI input. It's possible you bought a defective system. I recommend you call Sony and see if they can troubleshoot it, and possible get it repaired/replaced.
