So we go with 3rd party controllers that fixed the drift.

I've tried absolutely everything. Even a professional took my PS5 controller apart and fixed it for a few weeks max. Always comes back.. I'm about ready to smash this fucking controller to pieces. So extremely disappointed.

So my controller randomly stopped connecting both via Bluetooth and wired connections bluetooth will stay connected for a minute or 2 then disconnect and the wired doesn't register at all ive tried multiple cords and even new ports even though I've never had a problem before since I bought the controller anyone have any ideas because I've tried everything literally

when the F are they going to give us good sticks? the ps3 sixaxis had 4 pin 10 bit precision potentiometers in it.... i think i saw some where that from the sixaxis to the dual shock for the ps3, their license had expired and nintendo jumped on the pin design and still has it today in the switch... which totally explains why their sticks never used to get drift. and that also explains how all the sticks are garbage now days. and it also tells me that nintendo is the freakin devil.... that sux ,man poor sony. they had the solution but it got powned from them... if this is whats real its kinda sad to me that we had good shit but nin is hording it, just like all their in house stuff..... i cant lie i think thats right up there with microsoft forcing windows 10 on ppl who were perfectly happy using windows 7... but 7 didnt have all the data harvesting oriented shit 10 and 11 have.... which suggests shits only gonna get worse

Tried the cardboard trick but now the controller just doesn't work at all. Did it press down too far The only thing that works is the stick and when I tried turning it off and on again it won't turn on now.

also if you're using this controller on pc with steam you can just hold the ps button and hit triangle to turn off the controller instantly!

FOR ANYONE THAT BROKE IT/HAS THE CONTROLLER STICK LOCK ON LEFT: there is still hope left in my testing (im not an engineer) i found that there are 3 causes for this, 2 fixable and the not so much one 1) the wool from the q-tip is stuck onto the sensor and its stopping the contact. BE VERY thorough, when i say this i mean it, it cant be spotted by eye, rub your skin gently on the metal parts of the sensor, in my case there was a lot of it. TLDR - the wool stopped the contact, so electricity couldnt make it through the sensor for the next 2 its a bit more dark 2) because i was so good, i broke both of my sticks so in the other stick, the sensor itself was damaged, so you need to get a new one 3) The green bracket lost contact- FYI green bracket isnt even meant to be open which nobody tells you, so ofcourse it can break. The green bracket is connected to the controller with 3 soldered points of metal, and metal doesnt bend well. In my case, i opened the bracket 10 or more times, so one of those points just broke off, and than another one- and the whole thing popped off for both of these, i suggest you contact that one friend with a controller graveyard, in your friend group at least one person will have 2 controllers (one is "broken" and he doesnt need it): for the problem number 2 just tear his controller apart and take the sensor and swap it in. Since the friends "broken" controller is usually just stick drift or battery, i swapped out all the sensors from my controller, implanted them into his and swapped the batteries best part is, the moment i finally changed the one broken sensor from my controller with a sensor from my friends controller, the bracket lost contact so i had to transplant 3 sensors and a battery into his controller, instead of just the sensor into mine... pity Dx

So, the only thing I care about is fixing the stick drift problem with a solution that doesn't equal buying a pro controller for $200. What are the options because it seems that there is a gigantic hole in the marketplace. I could get an Xbox controller for like $50 as a replacement when the stick goes. What can I do with my PS5? Sony are stupid, do they not know that two controllers going in 13 months pisses me off and prevents me from buying games from them? I am not going to go get a new PS5 controller when I know the stick will go. I don't believe in burning money.

This is almost never “improvement”, it’s cost cutting pure and simple. Like removing the metal trigger rod and replacing it with a cheap plastic one. Also why the weight fell after the Gen 3. Meanwhile Sony have increased the RRP of the controller, reality of the world today.

I honestly don't understand the battery life complaints in the comment section. How long are you people gaming per day? The PS5 literally has a setting to change your controllers when in rest mode. That's what I do. I don't play on it more than 2-3 hours a day and at the end of the day, I put it back to charge when in rest mode. The battery life is fine IMO and its better than constantly swapping AAA batteries like in Xbox Controllers. My problem with the controller isn't battery life but the overall longevity. Having non replaceable batteries and so many users having stick drift issues (I personally haven't faced it yet) is what worries me.

This video is the only reason for me knowing that I have a gen 2 blue, which I knew and a gen 3 white controller, which I thought was gen 2. And I have noticed that the triggers are slightly different but nothing really that special.

They've gotten gradually cheaper for Sony to produce, but as a customer you were never meant to know the revisions even existed. Otherwise someone might start asking why a controller that now costs less to manufacture, is $20 more expensive...
