In the clip at 4 min. And 30 seconds his leg didn’t break but rather fell asleep. I believe that static effect on his leg is meant to represent that “needle like” or “tingling” sensation when it begins to regain sensation or one might say “waking up”. Trust me I have had that happen to me enough to know quite well how it feels and I am sure at least some of you in comments might have experienced it as well in your life.
