Far as I could see in college (many years ago), the idea was to join a sorority and catch a bmoc. Most frats and sororities seemed empty to me...not competing academically, but socially and financially. To this day, still hearing about frats being suspended from campuses for serious hazing incidents.

When I got to grad school, I thought I would join zeta phi but got busy and passed on it. In professional school, never did. I don't feel I regret it.
