A great review as usual Richard, the low price of £149.99 for an entry level rifle made me smile, moving the decimal point 1 place to the left £14.99 was the price of my first new air rifle the BSA Meteor Super from F Hall's Gunsmith in Chesterfield. 👍

It's great to see so many budget springers performing well. Plenty of people out there on tight budgets who just want some simple fun or knock out the odd rat that comes in the garden. ATB MMMD

Great video again. Thank you Richard. I particularly enjoyed this one as it was my teenage son who wanted an air rifle to shoot (legally mine of course in the UK) that got me to buy this rifle in .177 in September 2020. I have since been enjoying a new hobby. I am lucky enough to now have 5 high end springers (tuned: HW97, 98, 99, TX200HC, LGU) and 2 great PCPs (HW and Air Arms). I enjoy going to my local club every week, especially when my wife and son come too. Great to get out and enjoy the company. l love the whole hobby, and the Gamo Whisper Sting is still in the collection :)

Hi Richard, very much enjoy your reviews. I've just picked up one of these in .177 for my garden range. Wow.... very impressed with its capabilities for its price tag. Mine seems to like Accupell. I also have a phox in .22 and for the money they are great. Very much enjoying your content. Many thanks.

Some on youtube suggest the HW95K is a 'budget' airgun, in my local gunshop it's £478.99, a fantastic bit of kit but hardly in the budget category. A good thing about spring rifles is the relative simplicity and the fact you can start shooting using iron sights without having to spend lots of money. It makes the hobby more accessible and honest well presented reviews of more affordable airguns is particularly helpful in my view (as well as premium ones!).

These for the money are an outstanding little springers, I have one which I use on my rounds while checking my rat traps around the farms I trap for and they are absolutely ideal for knocking off the odd rat that may catch my eye or the odd feral pigeon etc. Its the gun that performs really well that won’t break the bank balance and will take a knock or two and your not going to worry too much. I’m not sure if the built in suppressor makes that much difference though but it’s a great cocking aid. All in all value for money and a good performer, definitely recommend one.

@@airgunextra No buddy I haven't, I'm a newbie looking for a new gun, well I was but I've watched a shed loafs of these videos and I've come to the conclusion that the first gun I buy should be a Whisper Sting 22 Calibre. If I get on with it I'll be getting a more expensive one for Christmas for sure

@@airgunextra hi mate sorry to bother you, what pellets would you use for a 22 cal gamo whisper sting air rifle
@aliabbas47562 жыл бұрын
About that arrestor blade behind the 11mm rail, it covers an arrestor hole to insert a stopping pin, and you better use that, because when i used the plate on my Gamo whisper X (same rifle with skeleton stock, about 20j of power) the screw that holds the plate broke and i had to drill it out. But it is a good accurate rifle in general, i have it since 2016 with more than 10,000 shots.

Beautiful little gun, I have a BSA COMET EVO tuned a little bit, now she is about more then 22 J and performs excellent. We are not restricted by power so I'm extremely satisfied. Excellent quality as everything from UK. Also I have a Spanish Norica Dragon 4.5 tuned to 32J now it is a beast with surprising accuracy, I believe you like to test it but unfortunately it is not possible 😕

@@the_even_toed_ungulate. Is the smk shooting at around 11.5 ft'lb or is it shooting at a lower power? As lower power can reduce the sound.

I was considering one of these for my daughter but it sounds far too loud for the back garden. My neighbours would lynch us.
@airgunextra2 жыл бұрын
For sure there are quieter airguns out there. The filming process can make rifles sound louder than they are though because often a microphone is close to the rifle. In a garden though, most noise is the result of pellets hitting the target / backstop so it's worth giving some thought to what you are shooting at and what you are using to stop your pellets. I hope you work it out soon for your daughter's sake!

I've not heard of the Gamo Stinger - perhaps its one of those rifles that has a different name in different markets. But the Gamo Whisper Sting is definitely spring powered.

The scope that came with my whisper sting only fits on the rail if you remove the screw in stop plate as there is a peg on the scope which fits into a hole beneath the plate. I assume I’ve done that correctly as there is no way of fitting the scope otherwise . Instructions in box are useless
@airgunextra Жыл бұрын
Hi. It sounds right to me. If the mounts that came with the scope have an arrestor pin then you won't need the arrestor plate. But it if you ever change the scope and/or mounts without a pin, you'll be able to use the plate. Enjoy your rifle...
