In games such as Minecraft , Sims and some other games with strong building feature people who can make a project like that and build as good and fast are actually paid by some people to build houses, etc for them, sure prices differs but its never like super expensive , like cheapest i seen was 5$ and highest price i saw was 100$

agreed. And they have no concept of the game mechanics or the restraints within the game. You work with what you have and MOST hardcore builders operate in two modes... they'll have a bevy of very realistic "blue suburban" or "urban modern" super playable and quite realistic to the real world builds and then they have awesome concept pieces where they have an idea and they make it work within the game itself. We can't build in the ocean... so we make our own. The true skill of a builder I believe is how inventive they get within the limits placed on them by the game.

Didn't feel particularly fun to watch. It didn't irk me that much that they didn't know the game (though they should have figured out some of the stuff) - more that, especially the woman, they pushed their own esthetic values. I kind of expected more of "physics doesn't work" or "this isn't practical" but saying "red brick is depressing" is very subjective. And yeah, commenting on how they can pick up buildings... We all know it's just a design idea, not a real house. Sims should be treated more like making a project of a house - alongside with interior design - then actual building.

red brick is a quite a warm and homey material. London and New york are all regarded as pretty cities, even when they start to wear out, because of their pleasing symmetrical brick buildings. @@liama8337 Honest to what? Because the point of the video was them reacting to the builds themselves, not the limitations of the game. To which they ended up blaming on the players/builders. "This looks like a man-made pool because it's too square" is on the devs of the Sims, as lots only come in square & rectangle shapes. So then the video gets bogged down by stuff that isn't relevant or useful as a critique to the actual build. As someone else said, it probably would take too long to give enough information to understand the Sims, so I personally think the video would have just been better if they were each given a copy of the game and built their own creations. Then at the end of the video, explain what differs from real life architecture. Y'know.. An actual educational value, rather than them sitting there saying, "that's ugly". The whole thing was just unnecessary and mean.

But i hope they dont belittle these simmers who have been doing this for years and are really passionate and have taught themselves because yes, its a game, but there isnt a school for simmers, they had to figure it out on their own. And its not as open world as you think, the game has its limitations too and rules that follow gameplay. Love this, but I have a few things to say. First build doesn’t suit the surroundings because we don’t have that freedom. If you want to think outside of the box, your build isn’t going to fit. For the second one, there’s no way of building townhouses in the sims without having to make the surrounding building yourself. We’re limited to lot sizes and surroundings so I don’t think it’s fair to judge based off of that. My point is, it might be an idea to have them explore the game themselves so they know what simmers are restricted to. These build videos would make more sense then I’m sure. 💜

Has she never seen buildings in Dubai (underwater) or cute old Dutch buildings (brick interior)? Too overworked to travel maybe? That is sad😭😭😭

Everyone please stop hating on them. These are architects. I'm pretty sure they know it's a game but you got to remember these people build houses in real life. How are they not suppose to view it realistically! And some of you, i saw you guys hating on them for talking about the brick and all that. These are PROFESSIONALS. Most of us simmers aren't professionals when it comes to wallpaper and all that. So stop being so damn mean. My dad is an architect and everytime I sit him down, he's like this but worse.

Really emphasizes that they are experts and have an overflow of knowledge. This video made me realize I’m more involved in internet culture than I originally thought, I came /expecting/ fun lighthearted convo, but it was straight up brutal with facts and reality checks, different from what I’m used to when it comes to a react video.

just in case these 2 are reading the comments: function in this game is very important too, even without the laws of physics. during gameplay, youre gonna want a lot of items on your lot, especially inside a house. Living outside with no house in this game is a pain, especially because of rain breaking all of your objects. Making the outside look pretty is something you should try to do for every house, but sometimes you will need certain gameplay objects that can (and will, theyre pretty much necessary) help you progress through the game (the game itself doesnt have an ending, you usually have to set up a goal when you start playing with a new Sim, i.e. Becoming very rich, but starting with 0 money, or becoming famous, or getting to the highest rank in a career or even becoming a top level vampire or spellcaster). Function is very important during gameplay, but if youre just making a build because youre bored and you want to make something look cool, its not that important. it becomes important when you want to start playing in that house with a specific sim. its not always looks over function, as a lot of players have very small, ugly and cheap houses and have a lot of things under a floating roof outside, and only have a toilet and a bed inside. (this is most common for the Rags to Riches challenge, the one where you start out with 0 simoleons).

Yeah, I clicked on the video to hear what they had to say about real world architecture and how it could be applied to the Sims. Because I've actually thought about using TS3 to design my dream house (at least a rough idea of it). But they were so negative and downright nasty sometimes. Like.. Who cares if she doesn't like red brick or thinks it's "modern" enough? Yikes to their whole attitude. I can't even imagine them being likable co-workers, or hiring them to do a job for a client, because they seem to value their own tastes more than anything.

Lmao when they finally started showing the inside of the house and the girl goes “...it is pretty cool” I know that hurt her soul to actually say something nice about the build

1: They really was like I don’t like the sink but little do they know we have limited options on what we could choose from 2: there was a property line if you will so all that property does not exist on this particular lot the lot size was pretty small 3:in ts4 it’s hard to build in more cramped spaces because object such as trees are annoying to build with 4:I’m glad I “got to know” that ts4 isn’t realistic 🥴

I’ve never felt more protective of my home than when she said red brick is depressing 🥺 bitch I live in a Victorian red brick house and I love it! Nothing modern about it and that’s what I like best

She was just so nasty. :/ And the random off-hand comment of how someone who likes the style of the first house shouldn't own a truck like.. She really out here stereotyping truck owners. 🙄 Over a video game, too. I don't understand people who act like that.

Saw that guy build a house in the sims 4.. It doesn't look like it was built by someone who has a background in architecture.
