I know this is a joke, but you can actually make primitive door hinges by hammering thin sticks with a blunt object until they're fibrous, then tying them in a simple knot like rope going through both your door and the doorframe. They tend to decay over time, but are incredibly easy to replace and work well enough.

I love The Forest. What a great game made by only few people. Best part is, what many people misses or don't get, Cannibals. I saw many people say that AI is bad, sometimes they attack, sometimes they don't. And i think many people are spoiled by simple AI given by most studios. Cannibals in "The Forest" study you first, they wont come to attack you. With every day coming closer and closer. If you are hostile, they bring some friends, if you hit female, Oh, they will get angry. Scariest thing is? I did install Cannibal tracker mod once, and what i saw, gave me goosebumps. Yes, you see like 3 of them on the screen, but with that mod, you see like 50 of them, slowly following you off screen - Always.

@@mabbsgaming8578 if you think about it the hinges on luggage cases are typically mounted to a flat parallel surface. You remove the entire plate that the hinge joint is mounted to, punch some holes as attachment points, and use anywhere from 3-5 of them to act as the hinges for your door (depending on the weight of the door). The won't be perfect and they won't last forever but they will work. And they would likely last longer than a lashing hinge that would dry out and wear relatively quickly from the friction of use.

Public disclaimer: that's still a last resort. I did use poison ivy as TP in my younger years. Don't do that. @@michaelsotomayor5106 it says in some book that it is "even capable of crashing a plane" so that means that the purpose was not to crash a plane, and possibly not even crashing anything in the first place. It was only found out to be able to crash a plane after testing it. Perhaps it is some sort of really strong EMP device.

also how weird it is that i haven't seen a single video about the enemy AI in The Forest, while it's one of the most complex and interesting ones i've ever encountered. I played for about 6 hours and there actually WAS NOT a single moment where the enemy behavior would break the immersion of them being a tribe of cannibalistic living beings.
