I've never seen a person abuse a guitar so beautifully. Will miss you until I die, then I'll see you in Heaven . Thank You and the rest of the Gang

I first saw the Gang of Four on my 21st birthday here in NYC in 1981. From that day on till the band came apart in 1983 i saw them many times. But that night back in 1981 changed my life forever and that was mainly due to Andy Gill. I had never seen or heard anything like him before. He was just such a brilliant guitarist and to this day nobody ever sounds like Andy. RIP Andy ill miss you forever and thanks so much for everything you gave to me that night and many others!

I've loved Gang of Four since the early 80s when my boyfriend at the time gave me their album, saying, "They are fantastic!" He worked for a major rock concert promoter and had worked with everyone from The Stones to Led Zeppelin. Rest in Peace, Andy Gill. You live on through your music. x

Loved Gang of Four back in the early 80s. Condolences to you and your family met your Dad at Asbury Park NJ concert 2019. He was was so sweet for a picture. I told him he was the best, and said in his accent, "If you think so". I always will remember that quote.

It is sad that we all lost Mr. Gill. His music inspires many. I remain breathless.

Very moved to see this. Finally got to see the band in Adelaide, Australia, November 2019 and still can't believe Andy passed away so soon after. This choice of song with the photo montage is ideal.

Gang of Four is a very cool band. I had the pleasure of seeing them in 2019 at the EDP Vilar de Mouros festival in Portugal still with Andy Gill. Rest in peace Andy 💫

In my mind, I knew there was more to that scowly, taciturn man who tortured the heck out of the guitar, made my ears ring (louder) for two days, was the straight man to Jon King’s wildly gesticulating figure. He was good at what he did. Glad to see it rendered in pictures, sad it comes as part of a memorial after his passing, and that the fellas who knew and worked with him were able to perform a fitting elegy. I was moved…

Devastated to have lost Andy. Him and John King were so inspirational to so many. 💙

Inspired more than only music, some of my art was/am inspired by Andy and GoF. I was introduced to GoF in '81 while attending art school. It remains an instigator today.

I saw them twice, 2nd time was their last gig before their long 80s hiatus. Stood about 10 feet from Andy shredding his heart out. It was incredible. RIP.

Judging from the slideshow, I'd like to think Mr Gill had a good life. That makes me less sad about his death.
