its one of my fav songs.......as child my dad used sing it 4 me.......my father is big fan of bhupen hazarika.....i feel proud 2 b part of assam.....though m nt assamese......bt i love listening to assamese music......i feel listening to dis song ovr n ovr again.....its nt just bout da ganga...bt al human religions,customs,gender...n humanity in general......it makes me feel patriotic......

The meaning in all versions is similar.. In Assamese version Bhupen Mama (we call him 'Mama' in Assam) used the Brahmaputra river instead of the Ganga.. 😊

Thanks for the video. But how many who love the song, truly love the Ganga itself? The song's beautiful, but the river itself is dirtier than ever ... and dying ... and close to death. Westerners like me, who have the greatest respect for Indian culture, cannot seem to understand, the vast gap, between the devotion of India to their geography, but absolute lack of action to protect the environment. Please bring more awareness regarding this, to your people.
