I love how she started using "AllhailthequeenUWU" 's gangle design as her v-tuber (for anyone wondering who they are, its the creator of the tadc fangame rpg thing), its honestly a very good design and it was only used in the fangame, theres barely anything about gangle's design in their channel, which is dissapointing

Here are my theories about the characters and what their avatars represent: -Pomni: Jesters, historically, were not merely employed to entertain. They were given leave to speak truths no one else in their liege lord's court would be allowed to. Pomni is a jester, because she speaks the truth, when the others can't or won't. About how much their situation sucks. About the personality flaws of others. She vents the tension of the situation, often with a kind of sardonic attitude. -Jax: Rabbits, in stories, often occupy the trickster archetype. From Briar Rabbit, the Hare (from "The Tortoise & the" fame), to Bugs Bunny. Witty, wily, and willing to pull pranks on people. Also like Bugs Bunny, Jax has a measure of genre savvy that he exploits ruthlessly to get one over on others. -Ragatha: A doll, yes, but specifically a _ragdoll._ Not merely a comfort object, but one coming apart at the seams. Mended as best can be done, to keep her going. She is the older sister to a succession of needy children. And like any little girl's toy, she's endlessly tormented by Jax, the archetypal shitty brother. -Kinger: I suspect we'll find out more about his apparently royal theming later in the series, when we get an idea who he originally was. (Though we suspect he and maybe Queenie might have been instrumental in creating the Digital Circus to begin with, as programmers). But in terms of Chess, the King is an important, but ineffectual, piece on its own. Needing others, including the Queen, to protect him and secure victory. Without these others pieces, a sitting duck. (But never forget that the King CAN take other pieces, if the opportunity presents itself). -Zooble: This one's pretty obvious. They were nonbinary and unhappy with their body/gender in the Real World. This Dysphoria transferred to the Digital Circus, albeit in a symbolic manner. Always searching for new accessories, in an attempt to find their "true" self. -Gangle: Frail, floppy, and stretched thin. Needs to Mask in order to hide her shyness, sorrow, and insecurities. Literally putting on a happy face, to mask her true feelings. A mask that is so easily torn away, especially under the relentless needling of Jax.

We'll see what unfurls for Pomni's arc and perhaps get some clues on why she became a jester in the first place. ​@@izzyk9- Pomni's name means remember. I think everyone in the Circus can't get out and Cain can't send them out because nobody has enough (computer) memory to figure out how. Pomni's journey so far is allowing her to have more personal connections than most stuck in the Circus so maybe she will piece together everyone's missing memories and use that to free everyone from the Circus, including those abstracted

Specifically, a Jester's job, aside from being entertaining, is to take the piss out of their liege lord. They're given permission to say what no one else is allowed to (because the Jester can turn it into a joke). Pomni certainly has no compunction about speaking her mind. She's able to point out how fucked up their situation is or the failings of the other characters. In a way the others can't (because of personality flaws/madness), or won't (because they're gotten used to it). Pomni says what needs to be said.

@@Bluecho4 Very yes, and that right there makes me excited to see what comes next, not even counting whatever surprises that are yet to be uncovered on not just the other cast, but her as well~ There may be parts of her as a whole we also haven't even seen since all she's had the moment she arrived to the circus is in essence one long trauma conga line with next to no breaks.

My dad used to be a street performer. He personally defines a clown as a “physical comedian”. So a comedian who is funny by moving their body in a funny way. That would include jesters. It would also include Jackie Chan though, so perhaps it’s an unusual definition.

The new TADC was beyond amazing! You once again killed it as Gangle as well as Martha. It definitely had some good scares. I loved how we got to learn more about Zooble. I especially also loved learning more about Kinger. I actually cried during the scene where it showed Kinger’s last moment with his wife and especially Kinger’s speech about holding onto good memories and cherishing those around you. Others have said this and as very much agree Kinger glowing when holding his breath while walking with Pomni seems very symbolic. It’s like in that moment he was a guiding Angel leading Pomni out of the darkness. I also have to mention the fact that abstractions seem to calm down in darkness and are okay to touch when calm, assuming it’s like this with all abstractions. Also how Caine’s brief breakdown shook the fabric of the circus. A lot of possibilities were unlocked during this episode. Overall I think this has been the best episode of Digital Circus so far! I’m already looking forward to episode 4 which according to Gooseworx, is going to be Gangle’s episode! 🎭

My personal theory is that every character is just a digital clone of the human that used the headset, a la Black Mirror USS Callister. Like the humans are fine; they used the headset for like a second, then took it off and went back to their normal lives. But the clones, who have all the same memories (except for their names), couldn’t.

50:38 Caine says the *only* thing he can't control about the players is their minds. This implies that he fully controls their bodies (which is shown when he levitates Zooble and when his NPC takes over Pomni's body) I think Caine might have been on a chess vibe when Kinger and Queenie tried on the headset. He also clearly has knowledge of what the room surrounding the headset looks like-chances are, he has a limited view into the outside world, and could possibly have observed their relationship before they entered the circus.

My theory is that Kinger helped build the digital circus in some way. he mentions 7 years of computer programming and he acts awkward and nerdy and knows about how the circus works even in episode 1. he might even have programmed himself to be an admin (a king) which his wife might have been put in either by him to try and protect her (to reflect the story of the hunter killing their wife) or as a copy of his wife to keep him company because she broke up with him due to not treating her right (kinger telling pomni not to let people feel unloved). that is my main theory. i have others but that one has the most evidence to support it in my opinion. (i also think gangle is an NPC because their mental state is directly related to their physical state -their comedy mask-. taking it away makes them sad which is a thing none of the other characters have. even cain says he cant effect peoples minds so why can gangles mind be changed by literally anyone? also gangle is very submissive not just to jax but in general, they point things out and react to things but dont seem to have any agency in any way, almost like a helper npc. ) this theory is significantly weaker than the first one, its mostly based on them being mentally unstable in a way that is inconsistent with the rest of the cast, but could just be a reflection of the character having bipolar disorder or being manic/depressive like mentioned in this video.

The reason why one shows up right when another abstracts, is actually because there are 'player' AIs in-stock and pre-scanned, for when the earlier ones go insane. I think there will be a similar scene to gummi-goo's for the main cast where the find the beta models of future players, bending what 'time' and their existence actually mean.

... i don't think so actually. pomni says 'he just wants me to sfufer, i knew this would happen'. she might be talking about somethign else. that someone sent her here deliberate and she put on the headset. there are other evidence of something amiss in the real world. when pomni was shown her room, she got REALLY wide eyed and quiet, as if she's never had her own room.

1:42:10 Honestly, I think the ‘theoretical children’ is a throwaway line; something about the delivery of it made me immediately think “oh Goose is parodying horror games with recordings that are big lore dumps that drop weird plot threads into a game and make people go life crazy over them”, like the FNAF games. Similar with the tape that tells you to not look away from the head…that requires you to look away from the head. As Kinger said, “Well this is some rather inconvenient lore placement.” I know that’s a very Doylist view of the line, but I’m not ready to assign children to Kinger’s already very sad backstory when he’s already got a basically-dead wife.

Yeah i thought abt the idea that she is a jester b/c of kaufmo but its a circus themed show and the chances of putting the headset on just as he abstracted is crazy. I think when ragatha said "give up" its her saying they chose not to participate in the events since the whole idea of the episode is pomni choosing to not participate and try and escape, where in the end the moral is that to survive you have to atleast not give up searching and help people. Prolly gonna be what jax fails to understand and it will be his downfall (i like to think hes a hacker or npc tho so hell prolly have his own reveal and themes tied to him.

My current running theory is that all of the characters are members of the dev team for the Digital Circus. Kinger was a lead programmer, Gangle is a character artist/designer, Jax was a combat/battle director, Zooble was a 3D modeler, Ragatha was an assistant in the office that would look after the other devs, and Pomni was a QA tester (which is why shes so savy about the game concepts and physics exploits and such)

I won't lie...I've had a thought on the use of Manikins/Mannequins for a while now but...now that you've pointed out that there's one that's HIDING AND WATCHING THEM...one of my wildest theories seems suspiciously plausible. I won't say much on it right now...but I will say that my suspicious theory might be a more selfish one because it involves the fact that I've played a Manikin (specifically, one that is plotting something in the backgrounds of what's going on with everyone else's character) in an art/comic related tournament that Gooseworx was a judge for (specifically, an Original Character Tournament on deviantArt about 6 years ago). And I don't mean suspicious in a bad way. I'm just curious if previous interactions with Gooseworx inspired something going on in the background.

The saddest thing about Kinger is, the way he worded part of his comforting advice: "in this world, the worst thing you can do is make someone think they're not wanted or loved." The way he said that makes it almost certain that things were not good between him and Queenie before she abstracted. I tend to think that it was more other stuff that was making tensions really high, and then they had a really bad argument which became the tipping point for Queenie but because of that argument Kinger blames himself for her abstraction. My personal theory is that they had kids in the real world which Kinger (at least; it's hard to say if Queenie had much of a hand in things or not) made the circus for, and they probably got sucked into the circus with their parents. Those kids were probably the first to abstract, and well, that would have been hard to witness as the parents. It wouldn't have been hard for things to go tits up between the couple after that. Maybe Kinger even went so far as to call Queenie a heartless monster. It would certainly explain why he felt so strongly for the Baron mistaking HIS wife for the monster. Also yeah, Jax is certainly nightmare fuel. I ended up having a nightmare of him but funnily enough it was before anything about episode 3 had come out. It was like an animatronic version of him, he had no hands and his arms were hollow and he'd use them like vacuum cleaners. He kept looming out of the shadows and trying to suck the life essence out of me. It was a terrifying feeling. I remember trying to fight it and "waking up" in a hospital bed with nurses trying to calm me down while I was still screaming feeling those arms sucking away my soul. Thankfully the nightmare didn't last too long, I ended up breaking free of it by procuring this little like statuette relic thing that I knew I could use like a crucifix against Jax, and he never showed up again

I feel that C&A being Caine and Abel can also represent the company being a family business. We saw the contrasting of Queenie and Kinger, and Kinger was the first so far to mention, "7 years of computer science for this, huh?" So maybe 2 groups formed C&A, or it was a family/friend alligned business that went wrong. Either way, I think Kinger being completely protective over Pomni, and her name meaning "Remember" are not just mere coincidence. She's the only other one who's in a royalty outfit.

I doubt anyone will see this, but I have a theory as to why specifically Kinger's memory is so much worse than the others. Caine has said he can't control people's minds, which means whatever happened to Kinger isn't Caine's doing (at least, definitely not directly). Many, including myself, have tossed around the idea that Kinger was a lead programmer for the Digital Circus. I theorize that he was likely also one of the primary testers, making sure that his program and AI were working properly in the only way he could actually confirm. This would mean he was taking the headset on and off over and over, which could have some lasting effects on his psyche.

My theory is that subconsciously, they know more of their lives outside of the circus. Kinger saying 7 years of computer science for the game and Pomni's outburst after her possession. Before puting on the headset, she knew things would be horrible and it seams she was pressured to putting it on. This seams to push into the Jesus theory. I also acknowledge that she could just be talking about Caine trying to make her suffer.

Rather than someone abstracting when another person gets put in, I saw it as when a human abstracts, another person gets shoved in to replace them. Of course, we don't know when exactly Kaufmo abstracted but considering he didn't show up with everyone else for the "intro", it's entirely possible that he already had before Pomni got jacked in. In any case tho, I can't wait to see more TADC lol

True. The 90's era ones had primitive shapes and color pallets similar to the circus. While the setting might be closer to modern times when Pomni joins, the game itself was probably programed as a 90s VR game.

Crackpot theory, Abel made Caine, Abel made the circus to create a place where his creation can entertain people. Abel is killed by Caine on accident by being mistaken for an NPC, Caine now cannot release people from the circus and is just doing his best to prevent the real people from their minds being destroyed before they can be saved

I was reading the comments and came across that Pomni's name, in russian, means to remember, or rather to not forget, and in Polish is means to be mindful or to have something in consideration. Which was her lesson with Kinger in Episode 3 I decided to dig deeper with the name meanins for the rest of the main characters Ragatha - the name part is Agatha, which means "good" Gangle - Best reliable info on Gangle - is that it is a surname and means "to go" or "to walk" - this doesn't make sense but it could at a later date - though I suspect it is because she is a ribbon and can dangle things Zooble name per Gooseworx - is derived from the toy Zoob - which was a toy where you could assemble pieces to make something else Kinger - is a Chess piece and the King at that - Jax - this name is the doozy - it means - "God is gracious" - the Abel to Caine's cain????

Then if we interpret the tapes as a mirror to Kinger's life, the one about the husband accidentally ki***ing his wife... Could it be that Kinger actually never got to see his wife in the circus but actually ended her days here through joining on his own will trying to get back to her ? Him being reminiscent of his past life with her (him being into computer science and her being an entomologist, I mean it's not impossible she was collecting bugs in the digital world but... To me it make more sens that she was doing it before joining this place) could be inting to them not having any other memories shared other than hip being there when she abstracted, and him taking her place did give him the chess themed model Then there's the fort element, why would they construct it in the first place ? Him trying to hide her from Caine in a place he wouldn't check ? I mean given her height it had to be a tall one, meaning it had a purpose other than just hiding in secret quietly lovey-dovey And as a last thing that makes me believe in the transmission process from an abstracted resident to a new one is the way names are attributed, that's a stretch as I get this feeling purely from vibes but from the two case or Abstraction we know of I feel like the name are important, Kaufmo doesn't sound like a name someone would pick, it feels randomly generated, which also how Pomni got her name, what makes me feel like I could be wrong about this is the fact that the Machine Pomni got her name from is a 5 letters machine but... I mean it doesn't necessarily mean Caine can't just make them up with any number of letter if he wants to, but it would fit the theme transmission theory beyond just the appearance, Kinger and Queenie kind of follow this logic If this theory appears to be true... Man Kinger actually kind of pulled of an Orpheus move which is quite even more painful

I'll add something to the theory pile from another series I watched a few years ago, called AREL3. It's in French, but it has subtitles, and it's only a dozen episodes long, so I recommend you check it out Spoilers below! My theory is that, like in AREL3 (which also is revealed to be a digital world), the main cast are not the "real" main cast: they're copies. The headsets don't transport you into the Digital Circus, they just create a copy of your personality into it. This explains why they don't need to eat, drink, or sleep, and how they are apparently stuck there for a very long time (and also why Caine doesn't have access to that). The question would now be, where are the originals, and why did they agree to be put inside? Pomni was apparently confused about what happened, and while memory alteration is on the table since she doesn't remember her name, I doubt it would remove the part where it's explained to her what will happen

My theory is that this isn't the last time we'll see this mansion. Caine said it was full of ghosts and mysteries, but we only saw the husband, the wife, the angel, and whoever that small one introducing the first doors was. Also there was only one mystery shown. Also Jax was the only one to catch a ghost, but received nothing when they got back. Maybe Zooble will join in the next time they go there.

In one of my theories, they all die, that's how they get to the circus, when jax says "just keep pulling, it worked for all of us~" it was referring to a noose and they all killed themselves to get there, the headset is a lie so that they don't go crazy, you abstract when you realize the truth. It is also why you want to find an excape when you first enter, that is how you got there in the first place... Caine was a real person who was forced to kill himself, he used tech to crate a world to exist in after he died, this would attract other souls to there. You can't die in the digital circus because you *are* dead. I belive the order of abstraction will go the reverse of the episode 1 intro, being: kaufmo, Jax, ragatha, kinger, zooble, gangle. Aible trapped himself in the digital circus without dieing so he can only he represented by a mannequin, he watches over everyone to make sure they don't abstract, he tries to keep people alive who are about to abstract, that's why kinger is insane, and why Jax is *jax* when he can't keep one alive any more, he chooses someone else who died via suicide to take their place... gangle and zooble will be last to abstract because they aren't truly *one* person, zooble has identity issues and gangle is 2 beings. The series will end either with all them escaping with aible's help, or they all abstract... I think it will be the formal because goosworks revealed there will only be 1 season no matter what, there has to be a reason, right? Thank you for coming to my ted-talk
