I liked Luna and Gangrel. I will sometimes read stuff like "WWE didn't know how to use Gangrel" and that sort of stuff. He had a long run through the peak period of WWE's success. While he was generally on Heat and the lower card, he lit that part of the show up and made it very interesting to watch. He's part of the tapestry of the Attitude era.
@dkupke6 жыл бұрын
If you watch other parts of this interview, it is clear WWE had no few plans for him beyond him helping get Edge and Christian established and confident enough to stand on their own. I wish he had gotten to hold a title like the European or Hardcore belt, but overall I’d say he has nothing to regret.

Its a sign of how much he and Luna loved each other that they knew they could not go on together. As he said, with all the drugs and partying they could have killed each other eventually-and it shows how much they cared to realize they could not go on like that.

I met them both in 2007. Gangrel was very nice and humble, always been one of my favorite wrestlers / characters. Became a fan of Luna when I first saw her at WM 9. She was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in wrestling, engaging and respectful. She’s missed a great a deal. Hope Gangrel gets another run in WWE one day.
@ArcaneAzmadi6 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking today that, if they wanted to give Gangrel one last run in the WWE, they could have Bray Wyatt return after the Ultimate Deletion, claiming that he was sent to some very dark and strange places after being thrown into the Lake of Reincarnation (Gangrel was originally booked as coming from "the Other Side of Darkness"), but he came back with the aid of someone he met there- an _old friend_ of Matt's (Matt and Jeff joined the New Brood with Gangrel in 1999 after Edge and Christian split from him). Then the arena goes dark except for the red lighting, the whispering starts, the ring of fire appears... any fans from the Attitude Era would _lose their fucking minds._

I remember hearing an interview with Jim Ross where he stated that Gangrel was originally supposed to be the star out of everybody in The Brood but when The Brood spoke for the first time in an interview Gangrel's promo skills weren't very good whereas Edge nailed it. I was actually surprised at how down to earth she was, after hearing all of the stories. At least that day anyways. In any case, it was a pleasure working with you guys and meeting you. Between you and Duggan, Tom Brandy and everyone else on that card, it was a blast. I miss the business, but my neck and back would be completely obliterated had I not stopped. It was bad enough even then. In any case, I hope all is well. One of these days I’m going to get to your school and hang out for a few days. I haven’t taken a bump in years. I love watching interviews with Gangrel! I met him nearly 5 years ago now, he was just the best! I really hope that he comes over to the UK to see us again soon! I know obviously he is so busy with wrestling and training and him getting married next year, I’m sure he will want to spend a lot more time in the US rather than travelling abroad. I was worried to hear about his numbness and injury recently, so I really hope he gets back healthy! I’m sure he’ll soon be cutting down on the wrestling and the travels to spend more time training students and with his new wife, but it will be awesome to get to see him at least one more time. When I met him my brother drove, as I didn’t have a driving license at the time (quite strange because it’s not in my county where we met him and I actually ended up going to that very same place to pass my driving test a couple of years later!) so now I drive myself there will be no rush and we can hang around to talk properly! I could tell he wanted us to stay especially since we followed his whole career since before WWF and he could tell we were genuine big fans, but unfortunately my brother had work the next day early. So please Gangrel come and visit us in the UK one more time! I don’t care where it is, I will drive miles to see you!!

I trained with gangrel! I have the up most respect for him! The truest wrestler that didn’t get the push he deserved in my opinion, one of the scariest guys in the ring when being trained but outside the ring was the coolest guy of all time, very humble and when I mean scary, you knew you were under his command otherwise he let you know that right off the bat. Had more knowledge then I could ever imagine being green as ever. When watching the movie the wrestler, it reminds me of him tremendously. He is the real deal, rikishi also ran the dojo, which he was awesome too, but gangrel really put the time in, knokxpro will be a bookmark for the rest of my life. Thanks gangrel, from Wood!

I didn’t think my intentions aimed towards changing anything about the attitude era, I was trying to explain how well Gangrel was as technical wrestler, watch the mania match against xpac, he could of have had some great matches we never got to see with many top guys.
