the stunt choreography throughout this entire scene was perfectly done and has more blood than Reservoir Dogs & Running Scared put together

This series has some of the most badass over-the-top action sequences that I have ever seen, (in terms of both tv as well as in movies! If your talking strictly about TV, then this either number one or at least tied at number one for being the greatest action series of all time. The only two that are in competition are the two phenomenal Cinemax made shows, "Strike-Back," and "Banshee." And speaking of the latter, I think of "Gangs of London" as being the British version of "Banshee." It too is/was a martial-arts/shoot'em-up action series first and foremost, with the crime and law-enforcement aspects merely being the setting/stage upon which it's over-the-top action scenes play out. If you like this show and haven't seen it yet, I highly suggest you should go check "Banshee" out - it was fuckin brilliant. (And side note, Anthony Starr, the guy who plays Homelander in "The Boys" was the main character and was what he was pretty much known for prior to being cast as Homelander. and in it he did a fantastic job both in terms of his acting as wel as his fight choreography).

This was produced by Gareth Evans, the director of The Raid 1 & 2. If you seen these movies, you know the guy is big fan of 80's Hong Kong action cinema and loves ultra violence, over the top shootouts & choreographed fight scenes. Sadly, he's not involved with the show anymore, season 3 will have a different showrunner.

@@doublep1980 Yeah, i know - that's why I was so hyped for this series before it came out cuz i adored the Raid movies, and Raid-esque films like "The Night Comes For Us". Sucks he left after season 2, i didn't know that.... kinda bummed. That said, with the characters, world-building, and storyline that he's leaving for his replacement to pick up and continue on with, are all just so damn good that you'd really have to be pretty damn incompetent to fuck up season 3. We shall see though

What is with this show and absurdly over-the-top shootouts? The is supposed to the England for crying out loud!
@yellowprime8491 Жыл бұрын
Produced by the same people that made "The Raid". So they love that style of action.

Because at the heart of this show, isn't really even the organized crime aspect, it's a martial-arts/shoot'em-up action series first and foremost. The location, political machinations and intrigue, as well as even the org-crime aspect are more or less just the backdrop or canvas upon which these action scenes are taking place. Just like the other Gareth Evans made projects like the 2 Raid movies, (or the Gareth Evans inspired movies - such as "The Night Comes For Us").
