Once again, Congratulations! You have been introduced to another amazing director. Before I go on, know that *you do not have to watch these 2 movies in one sitting.* The first part is a more easily digestible two and a half hours long. Of course, be warned that after watching the first part you will likely want to rearrange the remainder of that day or evening so you can watch the 2nd part. It is that good. This movie was a sea change in Indian cinema. You will never see Indian movies in the same light again. It is enough to know that Martin Scorsese was shown it, and his response was to contact Kashyap and tell him how much he enjoyed this (these) movie(s). Yes, it was filmed as one movie, but the theater owners were not willing to tie up their screens for 5 hours, so they forced Kashyap to cut it into two. Along with introducing you to a new director, who you will become fans of, you will be introduced to several actors who were relative unknowns in the industry at the time of filming, but are now known as some of the best actors in India and are gaining traction in the rest of the world via Netflix. You were correct in sensing serial shows. After watching this film you will need, not just want, to see the Kashyap co-directed 2 season long Netflix series called Sacred Games. Bring your best game, brothers. You are in for a ride.

This movie has lots of different characters which are introduced during both the parts and each one brings something to the story. You are not gonna feel bored at any point. The whole movie of over 5 hours was made at once however released seperately in two parts over 2 years. This is the modern day classic in crime genre.

It is based In the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Some traces of this behavior is seen here. Like I went to the post office some days ago to apply for my Citizenship card (Aadhar card) and in the post office a 15 year old boy was thrown out by the workers since he got extremely abusive after the workers told him to that they don't accept digital payments there. Only cash is acceptable in govt places. Around 15 mins later this boy's father and brothers came with guns and knives and pointed it towards the workers and bragged about how they are from the state of Bihar and won't hesitate to kill them. And the workers there were like YEAH WE ARE FROM U.P AND YOU THINK WE'LL LET IT GO. WE'LL KILL AND BURY YOU RIGHT IN FRONT OF POLICE STATION IN DAY LIGHT. It got hella scary but funny at the same time. Luckily there was a guy in the line who was in Para-Military so he calmed them down by showing his ID and stuff. I was just right next to one of the workers there as I was giving my fingerprints and stuff and I thought THIS WAS GONNA BE THE END OF ME.
