Classic Puto Cheese Ala Goldilocks Recipe
Dry Ingredients:
-1 and 1/4 cup cake flour, sifted
-1 tbsp. baking powder
-1/4 cup white sugar
-1/2 tsp. salt
Wet Ingredients:
-1/2 cup water
-1/2 cup evaporated milk
-1 tbsp. melted butter
Toppings:
-Cheese Slices
TIPS FOR SOFT AND FLUFFY PUTO:
-Sift the dry ingredients to avoid lumps in mixture.
-Do NOT overmix the puto batter because it will affect the texture of your puto.
-Strain the puto batter for smoother consistency.
-Make sure that the water is boiling before putting the steam rack on top.
-Cook in HIGH HEAT STEAM for 10-15 minutes. Avoid opening and closing the cover while steaming because the puto will deflate and not form properly.
-Wrap the cover of the steam rack with cloth to absorb the water droplets from steaming.
OVERALL YIELD: 9 pcs. of Ube Cheese Puto (depends on the size of puto molder)
