I too have 185 60R15 Earth 1 on my Jazz CVT. I feel that they offer better road feel than stock tyres, without compromising on Steering and ride.

These are excellent tyres I had put them on my Etios a while back replacing just 2 year and barely 20k km Bridgestones. I couldn’t be happier. Now fortuner also running on Geolanders ATs.

Hi Abhishek, good to hear about the feedback on the Yokohamas. I am using a set of Earth 1s on my Jazz AT. Suffered an unexpected puncture on a 4-laned road when a sharp object cut the sidewall and I was able to claim pro-rata warranty on it - quite a fuss-free experience. The benchmark would be a set of Michelin Primacy 3STs that lasted for 91k km (no kidding, 91000 km!) on my Polo GT diesel. Let’s see how well and long these Earth 1 lasts. 🙂 BTW those are Geolandars with an a not e! 😂

@@GaneshBalan Yokohama Earth1 has hard rubber and is very noisy, very similar to those cheapass CEAT securadrives. If you want good tyres, then the go for are Yohohama BlueEarth GT or RV02.

Must be a problem with a specific batch you bought. Never had road noise issue on mine on the Jazz, not with my friend’s car either. Your perception on road noise can also vary with someone else’s. But no comparison with stock tyres like Ceat, JK and Bridgestone.

What are the specifications of your stock tires? If you’re upsizing from 14” to 15”, you’ll notice a reduction in fuel efficiency - by 1-2 kmpl. Speed is not a function of tires. You will however get improved grip levels since a wider patch of tires now is in contact with the road. Road noise will be less if you’re upgrading from stock tires to Yokohamas.

Affect on Efficiency with these upsize? As Gi10 isn't very efficient already
@GaneshBalan

No noticeable change in the fuel efficiency. Only when the width is drastically increased, say, beyond 30 mm or so, you will start noticing the change in fuel efficiency.

Hey. Hope you are doing fine. One question. I have sportz variant with alloys 165/70r14. Alloy width is 5.0 J. I researched online and found that 185 section tyres are on maximum limit one can fit in 5 inch alloy. Ideal is 165 and 175. You have already installed these 185 tyre. Any issues regarding tyre loosing rim suddenly? And what should be the recommended tyre pressure? Iam planning for 185/65 r14 but concerned about high speed safety. Or should i go for 175/70 r14? Hoping for a bonafide relpy. Thanks

We’ve installed these Earth1s on steel rims not alloys as you may have noticed. I did not quite understand what you meant by ‘tyre losing rim’. In any case, I would suggest you to stick to 175 considering a balance of grip, fuel efficiency and safety.

'Tyre loosing rim' means sometimes suddenly tyre deflate completely due to loose fitting on rim or in summers when rubber expands. I have been in that situation on activa scooter. So my question is that does185 fits well on your steel rim? As width of rim is same in yours and my alloy. So i asked this question. Is it safe? As 185 is maximum limit we can put on 5 inch steel and alloy wheels. Or should I go with 175/70r14?

Hey! I'm currently using 175/65 R14s on my 2016 grand i10. Is it advisable to upgrade to 185/65 R14? Stock size was 165/65 R14.

175 is more than sufficient, 185 or above is just an over kill for the car , according to its engine power . You can upgrade to 175/70/14 ,

wider ones will be heavy and will have impact on performance especially on 1st, 2nd gear. heavy tires also mean extra load on suspension. OEM is best

@@abhishekschidgumpi2256 OEM is insufficient. During lane changes, the car tends to overshoot, which is not the case with the 175 sections. I was just asking out of curiosity. As of now, I'm quite happy with the 175 section tyres.

@@jnanankurmahanta8426 can you explain the overshoot?
@GaneshBalan
@GaneshBalan 3 ай бұрын
Jnanankur, you’re already a size up from the stock 165/65 to 175/65. A further upsize is not recommended dude. It can affect your fuel economy due to the wider tires and can potentially affect the wheel well clearance when taking turns (which you’ll have to confirm by installing the tires on the rim). Stick to 175/65 R14. More than sufficient.

Friend was contemplating between the Continental UC6, Earth 1 and the Michelin Energy XM2+. Got the Earth1 at a better deal so went with this. Been using the Earth1 on my Jazz and it has been a good experience thus far so that sort of sealed the deal. ☺️

Hi Dilpreet, the road noise is acceptable and significantly lesser compared to the stock tires. The best in terms of low road noise would be Continental UltraContact UC6.
