I actually think this music is framing Ganondorf's transformation as a _tragedy._ The rehydration had music that was menacing, and the Master of the Secret Stone transition was dramatic. But this time, what plays is the melancholy dragon theme, the quiet humming of the choir, entirely unbefitting of evil cackling and swirling gloom. The music _knows_ this is futile, that Ganondorf is throwing himself away for no good reason, that this is a pointless gambit that will not succeed.

To add onto that, I think that the melancholic nature of the music mirrors the fact that in contrast to ganon, who was sadistic, cunning and focused his fury, the demon dragon only retained the malice and violence held by ganon without inheriting any of the planning, focus, cunning and sadism. Whilst the fight theme for ganon was intense, dramatic and chaotic like the battle it scores and the man it's about, the melancholy theme for the dragon reflects what it is at its core, once you strip away all the remotely-humanising aspects of ganon: miserable, murderous and desperate.

What I love most about this track is you hear the same melody as Ganon's final boss theme from Ocarina. Sent chills down my spine when I heard it.

Same. To think that we have come this far since OoT. It's the same Ganondorf, the battle with whom back then split the timeline. The same ruthless king who ruined the lives of everyone and especially Link's. Who then came back in Twilight Princess after managing to escape his banishment from the sages, or was turned into stone in Wind Waker, or wrecked havoc for milennia in the timelime where Link lost. His corpse was rotting beneath Hyrule Castle for milennia, yet he came back, because Demise's hatred is simply that strong that to get rid of. But in the end, I still felt bad for Ganondorf in this moment... A person who could have lived a normal life, instead kept committing unspeakable evils throughout his entire existence, being controlled by Demise's curse basically. And, finally, after realising he cannot win, Ganondorf ended up killing himself only so he could destroy Link. It's a tragic end for him, even though he is pure evil and needed to be killed. The nostalgia + the music + the weight behind this scene hit hard. I wonder if Ganondorf/Demise is truly gone after this, and whether Hyrule can finally be free of him. Will we get a new villain for the next Zelda game, or will we get a game that takes place earlier in the timeline? The thought of what could have been if Ganondorf wasn't destined to be evil incarnate, back in OoT when he could have allied the Gerudo people with Hyrule, brings chills to me. 10,000+ years full of bloodshed and tragedies that ruined countless lives and made most Links and Zeldas suffer greatly, all because of Demise. It was especially tragic for OoT Link, who I think got the worst ending no matter if he succeeded or not :/ ToTK can easily serve as the end to the series' timeline.

@@Slate_Box French version. FRÉDÉRIC SOUTERELLE voices Ganondorf (and Kratos). The dialogue in French, Ganondorf sees himself legitimately ruling by his birth. The English and Japanese texts are "Hello, I'm the bad guy, I'm going to destroy everything because I'm bad."

Because throught the game, we see Ganondorf at his prime, both as a cruel and cunning warlord who would take any step necessary for his goal, to an all-mighty demon who could only be inconvenienced rather than stopped, let alone killed. But all that is shattered once he finds himself about to lose, roaring and ranting like an animal and willing to throw away his very being *just* to kill Link.

The way he delivers the line “ A mere mortal will not stand in my way” during the beginning really was a slight moment of compassion. He really couldn’t believe all his efforts and the time spent waiting was about to be undone by someone he didn’t even think was worthy. He just couldn’t accept defeat and you kind of had to feel bad for him. The soundtrack really encapsulated that feeling for me. Phenomenal moment of gameplay

I love this boss fight and just about every other aspect of this game, but this moment right here is the moment I come back to in my head. The moment of him struggling and saying nothing will stop him. Because I knew that he had to have a “monster” phase like Ganon or something. However, in that moment I didn’t have any idea what was about to happen. No previous hunches, no predictions, nothing. It was an absolute magical experience listening to him speak and not have any idea what was about to happen. Only for my jaw to hit the floor when he ate the stone. What a game 10/10

They likely did that because it saves space. Rather than having a track for music, a track for sound effects and a track for voices, they just merge the music and sound effects so there are only two tracks per scene.
