Gantz Quits Israel's Government, Criticizes Netanyahu

Benny Gantz resigned from Israel’s emergency government and called for elections, criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his handling of the war against Hamas. The departure of Gantz, a Netanyahu rival and former general, is not seen as an immediate threat to the Israeli government. Bloomberg's Joumanna Bercetche reports.

If I had to guess, the hostage were being kept in and around buildings full of civilians with Hamas operators dressed in civilian clothes spread throughout the area. It is typical HAMAS behavior to use their own people as shields and martyrs.
