30 minutes from Cotonou is Ganvié, also nicknamed the Venice of Africa.
A village, or even a small town built entirely on water. Here we only travel by boat and all life is organized on the water.
But although Ganvié is very pretty, it is not always easy to live there.
Difficult access to drinking water and electricity, difficult to move around, the only work is fishing,...
But why did they build on the water, how did they do it, how do people continue to live there?
It was with these questions in mind that we left to visit Ganvié.
We can already say, it was a very nice visit.
WHO ARE WE ?
We are both architects and, unsurprisingly, passionate about architecture. But it is not the only passion that binds us because since we met, we have taken advantage of every opportunity to discover new countries.
For us, architecture and travel are above all emotions. It is these emotions that we put at the center of our stories and our creations.
